I don't know Jper on a personal note, but from what I've gathered in the other thread, the "he did not realize I have v-tech line was just in fun with no seriousness what-so-ever. After owning a Mustang gt before the civic I'm sure he realizes that the SI not the fastest car in the world. It was all in good fun so lets just play nice and enjoy what we own and drive, free of internet drama.

I'd have to agree, some of the posts in the other thread made me sick to read, the one about the japs bombing us...

That was almost 70 years ago, and we responded by turning 2 of their cities to dust. They are a MAJOR ALLY now, and employee more US autoworkers then our own failing car makers do. But hey I guess if its not a mustang its ricer crap.

I guess I should take my Australian car and leave too?

Sorry ... but I would have to disagree with you 100%. There are over 450,000 active UAW members, which is down 100,000 from 2008. Even if you added all the Asian automakers US manufacturing jobs together you wouldn't even be close!

But if you had any data that contradicts what I have said I would love to see it! :)

True not all "work" on the cars but they support the manufacturing process in some way. Even if you cut that number in half Nissan, Toyota and Honda's number's still would not be close. Honda which has the biggest presents in the US with 7 auto plants, only employs a total of 19,000 ... keep in mind these are total employees not just assembly line workers.
