I dont think Lucus is the best thing for overhead cam motors.. and its prob a belt or something around the powersteering pump..

Sound like a bearing by the way u are describing it. Would have too hear it to tell. I mean like idler pulley or something.

First, I would not add Lucas to your engine. With out hearing it, it is hard to isolate. Does the sound get faster when you rev your engine? if so, I would say it is internal.

Second, take a broom stick ( just the stick ) and put one end were you think you hear the noise and listen. The broom stick will amplify the noise if there is one. Then go over to the opposite of the engine and put the stick in the same place and listen to see if it sounds the same.

LOLThats funny right there...I don't care who you are.

If your car is an early 03 (build date before Oct. of 02) it could be the head tick...But its probably not that. Maybe the belt or a pulley as stated above.

ill give that a try... my brother the mechanic is out of town so its going to be hard to have someone here check it out. i may go out to mikes and ask him to check it out real quick to give me an idea on what it could be.

I was drunk last night but im serious, mine has some sort of ticking sound too. If its not the head tick, not sure what it is but the car still runs great.

If you look down past the master-cylinder just below the head on the engine block there is a sticker that gives the month/date, and year of the engine build.

Words to live by, from Lou. When are you going to start writing that book?

When we were talking today I knew you must have posted something good. I just had to look around for it.
