    Broken spark plug tip

Saw this on another forum and thought it was a sweet little tip, particularly for the mod motors that blow out plugs.

When messing with broken plugs, stripped threads, etc roll the motor over so that the affected cylinder exhaust valve is open. Connect your shop vac in blow mode to the tailpipe. This will blow most of the chips and such out as you work. Between the shop vac blowing and grease on the tools, it should keep most of the junk out of the cylinder.

Never done it myself, but thought it a great little tip.

Here is my trick for when I installed my timesert.

Once the timesert was installed I could see grease and shavings laying on the piston so I connected a small hose to the shopvac and sucked out what I could but I still had junk in there. From what I could tell the grease I used on the reaming bit and tap was holding the shavings in there. After pacing around for a bit I grabbed a can of WD40 and sprayed it in the hole until the shavings were floating around. All I did then was stick the shopvac back in and sucked the rest of the junk out. I couldnt see any shavings with the boardscope so I put a few drops of oil in the hole and bumped the starter a few times while looking for anything that shoulding be in the cylinder. Then I just put the plug in and fired it up.
