New user - anyone else have a Kenne Bell on a Fox body?

Just getting back into Mustangs after a few years of losing interest.

Here are some particulars of my car, I have had it since 1990:

    1989 GT; 12.7 @ 108.4; 1.82 60ft on 275/50/15 DR's Kenne Bell SC (5psi) - Lentech Street Terminator
GT40 Irons - Ported Stock Lower Intake 3.73 Gears
    75mm MAF; 70mm TB
    MAC Headers/H-PIPE/Cat Back
    Comucam 2040 Camshaft
March Ram Air; KB FPR / 190lph Pump / 30lb Inj

Since that run I have added 3 more PSI, bypass, Boost-a-Spark, C&L Tube, MAC Prochamber, 255lph Pump and custom tune from Kauffmann's. AFR 165 61cc Heads, 42lb inj and 1.6 rockers. I had all of this done probably 4 or 5 years ago and then lost interest before I took it to the track.

My next additions will be a TKO-600 (going in as I type) and soon a Flowzilla Intake for the KB and possibly a Holleymax Lower.

Welcome Ray! Its been a LONG time since I have seen/heard from you. I remember when you, I, Bob Martire, and others were tearing up PRP many moons ago. Its great to see that you still have the car. I always wondered what happened to you, the guy with the white 94-95 cobra that hung out with you, Bob, and the owner of Rita's italian ice near southpart with the black 96-98 convertible.

On a side note, the flowzilla can not be used with the holley systemax I lower if memory serves me correctly, and that lower is extremely had to find anymore since it was discontinued. I remember when my cousin ran it he had to shim out the blower pulley as the holley located the blower a little further back towards the firewall than the stock lower did.

    Hey Paul,

I have kept touch with Bob, he sold his supercharged car and bought a turbo'd car 5 or so years ago. It caught fire and he no longer has a mustang :(.

They still have the cruises at Rita's and he still has his car. Tom was the other guy with the white cobra, haven't seen him in years.

The Flowzilla I have is made for a stock lower. I know that it is pretty rare, I think it came from Tim Ellis at Dynotech (?). I am going to put it on the KB later this summer. The holley system max lower (the original one) is supposed to be the same size/dimensions as the stock lower. I bought it as a set from someone who had it on their 5.0 so hopefully it fits perfectly!! Actually, I think I talked with your cousin about it to see how it fit. The guy also included a shim with it. If nothing else I will just install it over my ported stock lower and sell the Holley.

    Welcome Ray.

    Where are you located?

I'm with Paul on the Holley, I didn't think it would work with the flowzilla. I have a ported truck lower that might work. If it must be used with a 5.0 lower, Tom Moss can do a nice port job for a very reasonable price. I'll give you his contact information if you want.

I am near South Hills Village.

The lower I currently have is one of the ported ones Anderson Ford Motorsports used to sell. According to them it flows better than the GT-40, but who knows for sure!

I will most likely just use it with the lower I have as that should be an easy swap. At one point I was so good at taking this blower on and off that I could take it off in only 30 minutes, but that was years ago :)

I remember Bob's turbo car that caught on fire, it was blue. I only saw it once at a car show in Cannonsburg. I LOVED his strawberry LX with the saleen style stripes. Last I remember he had bought an SRT4 Neon. I'm glad to hear that the guy at Rita's still has that car. Do they still do cruise-ins there? If they do maybe I'll stop by the next time I'm out that way. I doubt it'll be with the '95 though as I can't put a car seat in it anymore since I installed the 6pt roll bar.

That is a rare flowzilla as I never knew they made them that way. I do know that the spacer is needed behind the blower pulley since that lower pushes the blower back towards the firewall ever so slightly. Are you running methanol injection on it? That was the only thing I wish the 5.0L KB's offered, some sort of intercooler. I met a guy at Carlisle who fab'd up an intercooler to his KB b ut that is the only one I have ever seen.

Yeah, the LX he has was really nice, it was a shame he sold it as the turboed car was not even close to as nice as the LX he had. His wife had a 96 or so cobra but I think they got rid of that also.

No meth injection although I am considering it. When I was at kaufmann's that last time they said my intake temps were about 170-180 with 8psi which I guess isn't too bad, but I would like the added safety if nothing else. An intercooler would be great for the KB. There is a guy over on corral.net that fabbed on up, too much customization for me though.

They still do the Saturday cruises at Rita's, although I don't think they are as big as they used to be. There is a huge cruise out in Wexford every Friday starting this week. They get 1000+ cars there. I work about a mile from there so I will probably go this week even if my car is not done.
