Ed, I'm really sorry to hear what happened. Hopefully everything will get straightened out for you in the best ways possible. I hate seeing stuff like this in any type of vehicle, but there aren't words that can describe the feelings when its a car that the person loves and puts a lot of effort and money and passion into like yours.

I saw that it was a minivan, and I just gotta say... I am very weary of people that drive buicks and minivans for this very reason... buicks are the calling card of the walking dead most the time in my area, and minivans are either women that don't pay a shits worth of attention to the road while their dealing with their litter of children in the back or a very disgruntled and emasculated male that has the look in his eye like he's searching for a way to kill off the rolling abomination of a vehicle they call the mini van.

but hey.. mini van = mega fun right??

Pics, edited as best I could. This orange with sun behind camera sucks to get. Had to adjust gamma and few others to get the damage to show better. I did have to pull fender out just so tire clears.

These are just visable damage and hopefully the only damage. So far I know the fender, wheels, tires, alignment and having chassis checked. Maybe headlight but only the rubber trim is off.

I left my camera at the track. I'll post mine once I get it, see if any of them are any different than what you have. I wanted to get one of the band aid Keith put on it. :D

I ended up talking to my agent today and put thru a claim on other guys policy since he never started anything. Got that taken care of and setup to met adjuster and local autobody shop thursday morning. Adjuster has already been cleared get cost of repair and cut a check since guy who hit me verified he was at fault when insurance got ahold of him.

Sorry to hear man. That sucks.

19 sucks everywhere but it gets real bad in Wexford. I was working down in West Mifflin last week and I couldn't tell you how many times someone wasn't paying attention and I almost got hit on 51. People are just stupid and careless.

Sorry to hear what happened. Unfortunately, stuff like this is always stressful and always a pain in the rear when it happens to your toy.

At least nobody was hurt and the damage is fixable.

I hope you're able to match the paint, and that you're back on the road without missing too many cruises or visits to the strip.

    Keep us posted.

Met with adjuster this morning. Covered cost to replace the draglite and front tires. Had the driver side wheel spun to see if it was bent or not and it was fine. Shop guy showed me and it was .6oz out of balance on outside. Which isn't much since Welds are a pain to balance anyways and my weights are all on back side. If it was bad adjuster would have cut another check for that wheel also. Replacing fender, redoing front bumper(which needed done as it didn't match since new) and enough to cover any and all blending to match. Think estimate is figured to redo clearcoat on headlights also. Plus alignment which it also needed. My string and tape measure was off alittle on driver side camber. Blue Ribbon shop so if it doesn't match they get to start over untill I'm satisfied. I'll drop it off monday 6/15 and should have back in 4 days. Nearly 2 grand in repairs.

I'll run out to Summit friday and pickup new wheel and set of Mickey's S/R radials for front. Insurance covering all :)

Got my paint and such today. I ended up using Valspar for the base and their blend for my paint was WAY off. Took eight tries to get tint right. Think guy said it called for 60grams of white and said it was way to much as it faded out the color too much. He had to add little more yellow and alot more orange till it was close and when it was close he added little more orange. $106 per quart and the RM brand would have been $167 for a pint and a half. I didn't even ask what it would have cost for PPG.

Got enough to do fender, hood, blend where needed and trunk lid if I decide to remove wing. Two quarts of Kwik Clear coat and quart of light gray Kwik primer/sealer, reducer, activator, red and gray scotch-brite pads and tube of Scuff&Clean to use with a gray scotch brite. Quart of grease/wax remover and gallon of lacquer thinner.

    Pic of matching paint attempts
