Ok now everyone has me thinking if I would have done any better if I cleaned the engine bay back up. All I did was clean up the paint and by the time I made it under the hood I was tired from all the beer drinking the night before. lol

I didnt even have my hood open Saturday.

It's participant vote and most of us voted for each other, that's why we all won. That's why it's important for the clubs to vote together if we can. We can only vote for what is in our colored sections though.

Just another lesson for next year.. spend more time at the tent and get those votes coordinated!

here's the list of winners if anyone is interested

    lol

Those fox bodies behind us should not have been there all 3 days. Maybe for Saturday for their class, but I believe we should have had that area also for our tent. Guess next year we will have to find out and if anyone parks there Friday and/or Sunday, we'll have to kick them out.

Maybe Don (Rush) can help clarify that.. he has more experience with this tent stuff than I do. I did ask my contact at Carlisle about it.

Myself. I treated this as an actual judged show. At a truely judged show if your hood is down no points, same goes for the trunk. It looks like you're hiding something, the car next to mine had it's hood down, I found out why when he opened it to show me the lip on his hood, it looked like it was never cleaned! The same thing goes for seat covers, it looks like you're hiding something so you lose points, of course that's at a judged show. For me though if the hood was down I didn't vote for it. I also think this show is too big for the buddy system to work, in some classes maybe it does but say you have twelve buddies vote for you, witch is a good thing, but if there's hundreds or even a thousand other people voting there's still no guarentee you will win. So I honestly don't believe that's why everyone won, it might have worked for some, but I think for the most part the people voting voted for the car they liked the most. That's why I like judged shows the best, especially when they look at the car for what it is and not thier preference.

That's one way, or take my aproach........

Park your car, walk away and look at other peoples cool stuff, try to find parts and more junk I didn't need, BS some, not really give a crap about the show. Find out your junk is cool enough for other people to vote for it without you really caring. Hell I voted for another car in my class because it was cooler than mine IMO (Original ASC coupe).

To clarify (and my best guess) your designated tent area if for YOUR club members only. Carlisle has a pretty good idea of number of attendess and cooridinates the showfield accordingly with all the other clubs involved and prepared the showfied for class identification and availability.

Saturday would be the only day that you might have some conflict, if your tent is next to a popular class that has alot of cars showing. But as far as Friday and Sunday, your area is your area so I wouldn't feel bad about kicking anyone out that wasn't a member of SCS.

    Thanks Don.

I talked with my contact after the show also and she said that's a good point to bring up and she will do her best to bring it to the Carlisle staff's attention for future shows. Maybe they can find a way to mark off for club parking, and also for the show on Saturday.

She apologized for not getting to our tent that weekend, so had she been able to, I may have asked her. No harm. We'll just have to remember for next year to have all our members park at the tent and kick everyone else out ;)
