Shiny new best at Night of Fire

Started day with a 12.40 and 12.42 in time trials. My normal can't buy a good light for 1st round elims but go 12.37. Then buying into the second chance race I go 12.38 then a 12.36 dumping before the strip(car was fast at 1000) also cutting a nice .003 light for bye next round.

Course it's not an odd number of cars and I get Balaska in 3rd round of No Box. Think I figured car would have gone a 12.31 or 32 last pass so I dial 12.33 and car just flat out hauled ass down track running a 12.25@111.75 lifting. Mike dialed 11.23 and went 11.16@120.84. Not sure if he tried getting out of it. That was a loss worth laughing about

I did everything the same all day long and car just kept going faster. Well except for second time run as car pulled off track and got my engine a little warmer then I wanted.

    Congrats Ed!!!!!!!

That was weird yesterday. My car didnt run for crap, althought it was almost consistant crap ;) All of a sudden, second round of street the car came to life. pulled "right the whole way down. I let out at 1000' and still coasted to a 12.51 (on 12.88 dial). It was a new best 60' at 1.611, but no where enar enough to account for it running right. I think I have something going on with air correction in my tune. Car runs 12.70 -12.80 in the heat, get cool and it drops right to 12.30's ????

If we only raced to 330' I've got a car to beat :D

Bob I saw that pass of yours, looked real good. Even Steve announcing was shocked of how far off you were from dial.

Looking at all my recent timeslips I see for the ET range I am in I can add 2.02-2.04 to the 1000' to figure my dial if I lift on a pass.

Yeah, I'm not real thrilled, makes it look like I got a hatch full of sand. On the good side, it keeps everyone geussing ;)

Typically I have good enough notes to do the same. Hell, I used to be able to watch one of your time trials and have a pretty good idea what I was going to run :D The problem now is I dont have good notes on this new combo, it's pulling some weird stuff based on temeprature, and this thing is completely different from 1000' to the stripe.

Congrats Ed, thanks for posting the slip. I never got to check yours or Mikey's out. Dialing was a challenge Saturday night. I think I'm jetted pretty rich though, judging by the chunks I was picking up.

    Nice job Ed....love the data!

With a D/A of 17xx and track elevation of 1250' the air must've been pretty good. I'm no where near PGH right now but seems like I'm missing out on some nice June weather.
