I had a 91Z28 with the L98 350 TPI engine. It was the first year for the return of the Z28 since the early 80's I think.
Had it for a few years. Unfortunately it never grew on me like the 5.0's, but it was a great car. Tons of torque and handled real well.

The car in the vid has a 305 as you couldn't get the manual trans with a 350.
Anyone have vid of this car cleaned up or know what happened to it ?

i think we will see the value of these cars start to go up over the next 3-5 years... i hate to think it, but alot of these cars are/will be 20-25 years old soon. i also think they are a good platform to start a cheap hot rod type build.

Correction. The 1LE, as I had did indeed have the 5.7 with a T-5 and the Austrialian 9 bolt rear. Very rare and I destroyed the car by turning it into a '92. I had no idea what it was worth at the time.

I had an '85 305 Iroc-z with some type of special factory handling setup, car was on rails in the twisties. Run fairly well too. A buddy has an 25th anni Z28 with about 1600 miles on it. Everything still has the plastic on it as well. This one is prolly so screwed up with the tank, fuel lines, injectors, brake lines etc., would be a nightmare to get it road worthy.

It says in that thread that it ran and idled after initial startup. And as far as I know when it comes to IROC's, you can get a 350 with a 5spd but it had no t-tops because the torque would twist the car and pop the t-top's off.

the z28 was made while they had the iroc also,they never made a 5.7 5spd because the tranny's would never hold!

Furthermore for the 5.7 and 5-speed. I had one and here is documentation of them being built. Believe me or not, I really dont care.

G92 option included N10 performance exhaust system (dual catalytic converters) which increased power output by 13% on cars so equipped. For 1989, G92 also required the following options:

5.7 TPI motor (B2L) or 5.0 TPI motor (LB9) with 5 speed (MM5) manual. 16 inch wheels (N96) P245/50ZR-16 Goodyear Gatorback tires (QLC) Limited slip differential (G80) Rear disc brakes (J65)
Engine oil cooler (KC4)

G92 and J65 (rear disc brakes) no longer available on IROC-Z convertible.G92 and J65 (rear disc brakes) no longer available on LB9 automatic IROC-Z.1LE performance package option (option level 0 IROC-Z) became more well-known.
1LE package was obtained by ordering the following:

Level 1 IROC-Z with 5.0 TPI engine with 5 speed or 5.7 TPI engine Optional axle ratio (G92) (305/3.45, 350/3.27) and its required options.
Air conditioning delete (C41) (standard heater)

Then the 1LE performance package was installed consisting of:

Fog lamp delete Aluminum driveshaft (JG1) Performance exhaust system (N10) (dual catalytic converters) Special deflected disc shocks Aluminum spare wheel with smaller spare tire (N64) Larger (11.86 inch) front rotors with Girlock or PBR Australian built HD front dual piston aluminum calipers Special swinging fuel pickup in gas tank and special 18 gallon baffled fuel tank for fuel pickup down to .5 gallon reserve to prevent fuel starvation in hard cornering.
Some came with special 16x8 light alloy mesh wheels. (XWL)

111 1989 1LE IROC-Z's were produced.
A new progressive throttle linkage was added to give smoother initial acceleration. The throttle had a smaller rate of advance at beginning of travel, and a larger ratio as the throttle was depressed

Definatly not tuned port injected. The motor looks nothing like the one you posted.

I saw the video. NO IROCs came with a carb. Its either a '84 Z28 with IROC stickers or for whatever reason someone put a carb on a brand new car??

They could have been ordered any way you wanted. My neighbor, back in 89, wanted one real bad but his mom wouldnt but it for him cause it was too fast. So he went to JC's and ordered it with V6 wheels, no badging and nome of the fancy stuff. Then bought the wheels and decals after his mom saw it. Mind you he was almost 40 years old. They are loaded. HAHAH He then put the wheels on one month and the decals the next. They were all sitting around looking at it and ordered pizza. The pizza guy came in and said " man, thats a sweet iroc" He got busted. HAHAHAHHAHA
