Description:
Come to a cruise-in at the original cruise-in spot in Armstrong County - the CADET Restaurant. Same owner/operator for over 50 years. Go to WWW.cadetrestaurant.com. This is a special commemorative cruise to honor deceased member and local drag racing icon Hemi Denny Thomas. We will have special edition dash plaques and decals, one time only. Hemi Denny was also our DJ, but Tom Lanning has taken over the duties and has done an excellent job. As you get near the Restaurant, look for Sam the hamburger man - a 3 story cowboy dressed in white and holding a hamburger. Sam is included in the register of Roadside Giants of Pennsylvania and he dates to 1962. Enter the parking area by turning off route 422, at the light, toward the Trader Horn Plaza, then the first left into the Cadet property. Please stop at the registration tent by the car wash for a goody bag, free 50/50 ticket and door prizes ticket. We do accept a $5 donation but it is strictly a donation, not required, to cover the DJ, door prizes and dash plaques. Registered vehicles may enter a free drawing for dash plaque featured vehicle picture for the next cruise! You may park on pavement or in the grass - plenty of shaded area for chairs in the grass. Good food in the restaurant during the cruise - try the Poorboy Combo! We'll be selling 50/50 tickets and bottled water for the evening. The restaurant is located directly on a 45 mph stretch of US 422, with a nice, safe launch ramp headed west - please observe the 45 mph speed limit. This event is brought to you by the Kit-Han-Ne Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) - go to WWW.kithannecarclub.com. The event draws beautiful AACA vehicles, street rods, rat rods, muscle cars, works-in-progress, sports cars, pickups, bikes, tuners, recent barn-finds - you name it! I few of us were thinking about heading out to Quaker for the Test and Tune Friday. (Gates open at 5:00) They have this every Friday.

Let me know if anyone else wants to go this Friday or we can try for another week. I am planing on running my street tires to get a feel for the new clutch so I am not going to be putting down any "good" numbers. This will also only be the second time out for me so if anyone that has never been to a track wants to go, now will be the time because everyone will be pointing and laughing at me.
