    Who plays hockey on here??????????

just curious, where and what type? for those that do, where do you buy your gear and stuff at? im going to start playing again, i just dumped all my old stuff out on the floor...it doesn't look good! the only place i really know of is that peranni's hockey world or whatever it's called in mt lebanon. i bought a new pair of skates there last weekend. they ended up being much cheaper than the mail order place i used to use years ago. is there anywhere else worth checking out? it looks like when im ready to finally start hitting some local stick time and playing again im going to have to buy all new stuff.

    thanks

I've played both Ice and Deck Hockey. Has been at least 10 years since I did either. I have a buddy that played Junior B in Canada. He still plays locally and refs. I'll ask him where he gets his stuff at. I know there is a place in Canonsburg called Ko's. A few people I know have bought stuff there and said their pricing was really good. It's about 1/4 mile from my office if you need me to pick anything up for you.

I play, alot. im on the ice about 4 times a week. anyway, i buy all my shit through perani's. My buddy Tim there is the manager. Ko's is a nice store, but they cant compete with the inventory perani's has and or can get throughout there other stores accross the country and into canada. what kind of skates did you pick up mike? and what all else are you looking for? everything?

i bought a pair of nike flexlite 10's, they are awesome so far. i have a wide foot and have always had to skate through pain. i had them baked and sharpened right there and shot over to mt lebanon for the last hour of public skate, they didn't even hurt that bad. as for the equipment, i would consider it heavy duty inline but not what i prefer for ice. im too old and cant affod to be off work if i get hurt so i want the best, some of the stuff doesn't even fit anymore:D anybody have a grand i can borrow! im going to head up here today, it's close to my house and i've never been there before....

Cool, i got my GF a pair of the Flexlite 10's they are a REALLY good solid skate, and for the price they have them now it's hard to beat. they are a top of the line skate. I was acctually looking into them myself, but ended up going with the Bauer One90's. by far the best skate ive ever owned.

It's amazing how well the heat fitting works now. there is no break in period at all anymore. that used to be the worst.

    for your equiptment:

look into RBK 5k sinpads, they arent too expensive or bulky, but nice and protective

pants, i have the Bauer 6000's but Perani's has a bunch of pairs of RBK NHL model pants for a decent price. they are adjustable so you can move all the pads for your best range of motion. i hihgly suggest that due to the fact that you havent played/skated in so long.

Elbow pads, couldnt tell ya, i still have the same pair since i think 96 when Rupps had thier closing sale.

Gloves, depending on how high you like your cuff, The Warrior gloves are very nice.

and shoulder pads, i dunno. i havent worn them since i graduated college. but for adult leauge if you feel safer wearing them, peranis has a bin towards the back of the store with closeout shoulder pads for like $29 i think. most of them are protective enough for you to feel safe, but light enough to not bother you much.

i just played at center on monday, one hell of a hike for me, but a nice rink. my favorite rink is rostraver acctually. the building is shit, but it is by far the best ice around.
