I'd defniately love to see a stock ss vs a stock terminator.

Am I the only one looking at the age differnces of these cars and just shaking my head. Come on GM! Ford built these cars to take out you 2002 ish cars not your 2010 cars. Hell you even took a few years off and you are still getting your @$$ kicked by it. Then you guys pull the "Hey lets kill the firebird off and make it look like the camaro sells are higher than ever".

no, you're probably not the only one looking at it this way - but that just means you're not the only stupid Ford owner Ryan! :p lol
that kind of ricer argument could be made about so many different vehicles... if you want an example the other way.. stock vs. stock, a 1998 Trans Am or Camaro SS will run the same (if not faster) than a 2008 Mustang GT (i'm basing this off of the typical 13.3's i see in a quick search of the net).... So, i mean - "come on Ford, WTF? Are you 10 years behind?" - NO, that's a retarted way to look at it.... or even better yet, one could rag on ford for the fact that their "muscle" car can be beat by a 4-door saloon made by Pontiac (G8)....
Also, I really hope i'm not the first one to burst your bubble - but there's no way Ford build the '03/'04 cobras to compete with the '02 LS1 F-bodies... The Mach 1's are similar in HP, weight, etc and compare up very well to a '02 F-body... If you ask me, Ford was looking to fill a gap in the market with the Cobra.... it fits in perfectly for people that wanted more power than the Mach 1 and F-bodies, but didn't want to drive around and portray that "typical Corvette-owner" image ... plus it was cheaper than a new Vette...
Its not like when GM brought the camaro back, they thought to themselves that they wanted to compete with a '04 Mustang Cobra... they're interested in crushing the current day Mustang GT and SRT-8 ... you don't build a car for the future and look into the past.... if they would have wanted to do this, they'd have put a LS7 or a LS9 in the car and it'd be pounding Termi's

Oh its seems I touched a nerve. lolyou don't build a car for the future and look into the past.... if they would have wanted to do this, they'd have put a LS7 or a LS9 in the car and it'd be pounding Termi's
I say build them and lets get this shit started. I agree, it seems like we lost out when the compition stopped because both sides pulled back in the HP war.

I just wanted to add that this is my first argument for the other side. I remember all the GM sided arguments going "we can do it n/a" or "superchargers are cheating". I dont see those anymore.

2010 GT500 makes ~510 rwhp stock, just like the previous body style GT500 KR did FWIW
If they put an LS9 in a camaro, they'd definitely have my attention. I might even be able to overlook that stupid interior design on it. Wouldn't be the first time ;)
no, no nerve at all... i really have no interest in the new Camaro .... none of the new "muscle" cars really attract me... out of the 4 i mentioned above, the G8 would be my first choice..
It'll be quite some time til i get anotehr car since i'm building a home, but it'll probably be either a Black C6 Corvette, a Laguna Seca Blue M3 or a G8 GXP... with a corvette being my top choice, and the other two being a toss-up

Bish, I couldn't see you being happy in an e46 m3, unless you're going to throw a shit ton of money at it for something like a HPF or AA big turbo set up or something. They're not fast stock, and they don't respond that well to mods. Definitely a huge change of pace from your old ride
Yeah, I know it would cost a fortune, but they'd sell a few. Think about how overpriced some of those GT500 variants are, and we can get the same result (minus the badging) for under 10K
I keep hearing they're getting high 12's out of the new camaro's.
I would say you should be somewhere in that neighborhood with your car, should be a damn good race going by this... If you guys go from a dig I think you'll will. A roll might be a little closer with you edging him out. I hear they're trapping in the teens in the 1/4.
i have seen a bone stock camaro ss do 12.8 at 1xx i forget the exact mph
I think they could do the SC Z28 they talked about for GT500 money easy considering all the parts are developed.
I also think I'd rather have a GT500 because it has more potential to me and well, I doubt I'd ever own a fun car other than a Mustang.
Now DD 4-door CTS-V....I'd have no problem with that

well cts v... there kick ass ive had a few that ive painted.... but bish is in the same boat with me... pontiac g8 ive tossed around the idea of getting rid of the cobra but... i dunno... a 4 door sedan thats na fast and handles like a bmw ... u cant beat that esp around 30k.... but for this cobra war... it may be interesting. i dont know how many stock termis there are on this site.. but for mine and that redfire that mikes family owns thats all i can think of.... it should be real fun no matter what the outcome. bc if i loose theres going to be big changes in my cobra.... we shall see...
thanks bish for your intel and everyone keeping this so far calm....
you know what we need is a grandnational on this site... against a turbo 5.0 that would be fun.
