If I sell my cobra (which I've been thinking a lot about lately because of some big commitments I'm going to be taking on pretty soon), its because I won't have time for it... so I'd probably get a nice mix of fast/fun and practical for a daily. Some type of AWD fart cart (STI & R32 come to mind, STI for fun, R32 for how nice it is). I know how you feel about STIs Ryan LOL don't worry!!
But if I'm going to sell it for a car that's just for fun.... the Viper has always held a warm spot in my heart :)
edit: I've also thought about a c6z and a porsche 996 turbo when I was in this position earlier. While never driving any of them, I would want the viper. Don't like that vettes seem like old man cars, the repair bills on the turbo make me want to stay the f away (and the exhaust note is even weirder than the vipers IMO)

i dont own a cobra in order to say im gonna or would sell mine, although i did see a wild build done on tv taking a mazda miata( yes i know its a chick car) and dropping a built small block in it.. now i am not saying i would attempt this but for a sleeper that will smoke alot of the cars on the road it would be neat to have .... but i would love to sell my gt to upgrade to a cobra or super snake.....
32 ford with ls1
BO on the viper and c6z i can tell you this much if you want any sort of comfort dont get the viper and the c6z will easily keep up with a new viper
I must be nuts, the next "fun" car for me will be a box top Fairmont with a blow through carb 2.3 on methanol. That or a Pinto wagon ;) Dare to dream big I say :D

i didnt say the viper acr, and in the handling department they are pretty close.
Viper srt-10 did skid test in 1g, 0-60 is 3.5, top speed 202mph brake 70-0 in 150ft, pricing starts at 91k
C6z06 did same thing in .99g, 0-60 3.7, top speed 198, same brake 149ft, price starts 75k
i dont think you would want the viper up against the zr1
And i re read what you said and i mis wrote what i meant to say, the viper would not completely take out the normal c6 but the viper would def beat it, but i personally think only cause it has about 200 more hp

scott, not that I really care to start a pissing match, but the 08 viper is a freak. headers & tune it makes 600 rwhp. I'm a very averaged sized person @ 5'10 or 5'11 and 200lbs so I have no doubt that I'd fit fine in the car.
