    Rear axle upper bushing removal

Anyone have any suggestions on how to remove the 2 bushings on the axle that the upper control arms bolt to???? I know there is a special tool or press that is made, but I kind of need a fix not vs. ordering and waiting for the tool. The axle is still on the vehicle. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks.

I own the maximum motorsports tool. Problem is, someone else has it right now in the Pittsburgh area or else you could pick it up.

Bob I think I need to borrow that too. Do you think those bushings can be changed on a raceday.

It is really iffy. If we had a few hours yeah, but I think we might want to race too ;) It's really is easier if you have an impact also. Larry has it now, but I will get him to bring it to the track next week and you can take it / use it at your leisure.

Rob - Let me know when you need it, you can use it ;)

    Wait for Bob's handy tool.

    Could air hammer them out.

Use torch and burn rubber out and deal with shell. Wouldn't do with axle under car for obvious reasons.

Or my way. WD40, nice new drill bit and drill a ton of holes thru rubber. Eventually walking bit around shell and rubber till it comes out. Then carefully using a sawzall cut shell without cutting into housing to split shell then use hammer to tap shell out nice and easy. Much easier to do if rear is out of car but can be done under car.
