    TheGreatWhite's 306 swap into my 85GT *DUW*

So i haven't had much time or money to do much of anything lately, but i started on my 306 swap in my 85 back in the spring. I have been working on it here and there, and i took some pics along the way. The last pic is my progress so far. i have probably a couple hours left of work to do,Let me know what ya think:thumbup:

looks real good. i always hated that you take all that time to make the block all nice and pretty and by the time you put on all your accessories and get it back in the car you cant even see the damn thing

Yes unfortunately they are the stock heads.. When i built the motor i couldn't afford a nice set of heads so i just got the stock ones cut, installed comp cams springs and got a 3 angle valve job. i should have at least got them Ported/Polished. As far as power goes, well i would like to think as far as hp id like to see 350. thats what i have come up with after i look at the lengthy list of all the stuff i have done to this car, but then reality kicks in and i feel like especially with the current heads that may not be likely. If your actually interested i posted up all the mods in the reply to the last quote in this post. Im just curious of other people's opinions.

i know i remember painting the engine and making it look all nice and thinkin "ya this is going look so good in there" then after all the accessories go in its like its still always worth it IMO.

Thanks man, yeah i actually got it all finished up and are just waiting for it to be nice out so i can get it inspected. i took it around the block a few times and it ran great. it started right up the first crank, of course i had to do some minor adjustments. ya that pic was from zeli. Unfortunately they don't have them there anymore. i remember when i raced there i just had the rearend and exhaust w/ a bone stock 193k motor and i was still ownin people ha.
