Cool ok! 4.10's are the only way to go!

how bout the axle code on the door sticker and the tag on the rear itself and also count tire/driveshaft revolutions ! if all three come out the same ,say stock vehicle if it's auto they should be 3.27's "3L27 8.8 " ON THE TAG on the rear cover or something close to that , or 3 and a quarter turns of the yoke for 3.27's ! i think the door code is m for 2.73's -z for 3.08's and e for 3.27's but what do i know . that car is alot heavier than 93 and back fox cars and with auto trans and detuned eec system you don't want to waste your time and effert with any thing but FORD MOTORSPORT 4.10's for your 8.8 and while your at it rebuild that stock posi-unit . P/S I just happen to have a set new in the box $140.00 and rebuild kits for traction-loc and a shift kit for you AOD-E also IMAGINE THAT!

I'm tryin to get somethin gear wise goin on two, I think as my next mod w/ some subframe connecters. It's been a toss up between the 3:73's n the 4:10's. Not sure which to go with.

well i guess i am sold on 4.10s , i talked to an old time gear head and he said they would not be bad at all except for the gas mileage drop but i can deal with it.. he said to do it right the first time and be done, and that some guys running at the track actually run more then 410s... so my next move is to find them for a decent price and buy them hey breeze i dont know if you saw the post above but do you own a shop or do you just have the parts? oh and thanks to everyone for all the input!!!!

ok here is another question? i was looking on summit and they had a 410 setup for like 460 bucks that had a 31 spline and traction loc and more stuff now can i get away with buying just gears or do i need this whole kit? and why is it better to have a 31 spline vs a 28?

You can get away with just gears. Just get a new pinion seal, bearing, and race for the install.

The 31 spline axle is a little more sturdy than the 28. If you're just driving around and not launching your car on slicks than go with just the gears.
