Thumbs down Yet another happy Davies customer

A customer of ours showed up at the shop and I noticed the decal on the back window and had to laugh. It is an 07 GT and the hood started to rust when it was 7 months old. They refuse to replace the hood, they want to refinish it. You can see the spot on the front edge is about to go through the back side.

I'm learning Davies sucks! Couldn't he go to another Ford dealership to get it taken care of? Back in 1988 I was living in Va. that's where I bought the car. It was a new Escort Gt, I was at my parents I started to wash it when my Mom called me in for dinner, I left the car wet, when I came back out the windshield had a large crack in it. I took it to the dealer I bought it from (Koon's Ford) and they picked at it with a small screw driver making it look like it was hit by a rock! I was sitting there when they did it! They then called me a lier saying they didn't do what I just saw them do! After a few choice words I went home and called my Dad who talked to Buddy at Point Marion Ford who Said to bring it in and they'd fix it under warrenty for me. So maybe another dealer would be willing to do the same for him.

I thought Ford made the hoods from aluminum. Still it would corrode like steel if water gets to the raw aluminum. Normal garbage Ford paint.

haha, i wonder what some employee's think when they see it, or other customers..

that is real bullshit, i'd try to go to another dealer and have them handle it.

Did this fellow call FORD customer service? I'm willing to bet Ford would send out a rep to make a call on repair or replace. Paint and body is covered 12/12 only not 3/36. Folks like to slame Ford and Dealers' but folks also don't realize how many people try to pull the "fraudulant" warranty repair for their weekend racing hobby or other things. Have seen a few caught through Ford Computer data that is stored that the common person and dealer techs cannot access.

Tell him to take it to Washington Ford. I had the same problem when my wife bought her first new car back in 2003. We bought it from Diehls (? spelling ?) Ford in Maryland, because no one else had what she was looking for at the time.

I called the original sales guy up and he gave me a run around, so I chewed him out on the phone and felt like I was screwed.

Called Washington Ford who I normally buy my vehicles from and they took care of it no questions asked. Woltz and Wind does their body work, but they didn't say boo about having to fix it. It was a 2003 ZX2 and the lower panel of the drivers side door had the same looking bubbled rust look on it, about the same size as the spot on his hood. I can't remember the miles or how old her car was at the time, but it was covered.

Tell him to be patient and not walk in with a chip on his shoulder and I am sure Washington Ford would take care of it. :)
