If you getting a 6.0L. The newer the better. And that 07 Has the chrome package, which is why it has that grille Which is 4 screws to change btw... Guy I work with just traded his 04 6.0L in on an 07 6.0L The Turbo, and headgaskets went in his old one. He said its not the first time it left him stranded.
If you want a reliable truck, get a 2000-2003.5 Superduty with a 7.3L Might not be AS FAST, but you'll NEVER find a more reliable powerstroke, just my $.02
But either way, get a truck that has NOT been modified, or touched, and if you can get an 07, then get that one. 03.5 - 05 6.0L's are NOT TO BE MESSED with, those were the worst years for them, and the newer they got, the better they got. the 6.4L's have/had radiator problems, and something with the turbo's ive heard. The newest ones arent so bad, but the late 07's and 08's (Job 1-2) had alot of bugs with them, and fuel mileage is something to never look at either.
If you want a newer truck, buy an 07 with the least mods possible, and lowest miles. You can always modify it your way. A lift and wheels will cost you 5,000 MAX. Figure a lift being 1500-2000, and wheels being 1500-2500. The flares will also cost about 300-500 dollars. The Lariat package is nice, but if outfitted correctly, an XLT can offer the same equipment, for less. Id buy the 1st one if your not short on cash, but the smarter side of my brain says go for the 2nd one, its not been touched, and its newer, with less miles, and a way smaller price tag. You could probably even talk them down a little.
