    So I Think I'm Getting A Diesel...But Which One?

Well about 2-3 months ago I sold my Chevy 2500HD. That truck sold faster than I expected and was forced to by something right away. I bought a 2007 Ram 1500. I have been kicking myself in the ass ever since. Everyday I hate this truck more and more. The rear end blew up with 30K miles on it (covered under warranty), The power window switches work whenever they want to, sometimes the stereo volume will be at "35 aka MAX VOLUME" when the truck starts up. It rides like shit, now you might say "its a truck a$$hole". Well my Chevy road great. Im just not happy with it. So ive been looking at some Chevy 2500/3500 and Ford F-250/F-350. I have always wanted a diesel so now im gonna get one. Gotta stay with the crew cab. I think ill never go back, and I have it down to 2 trucks.

    This is a 2006 F-250 Lariat
    6.0L V8 Diesel; 40K miles
    List $37,000
This is a BAD ASS truck!!! Absolutely SICK!!!
Lrg Tires, Rims, Exhaust, Lift Kit
Car Fax shows that this truck was bought local (north park area), but then spent about a year in FL.

    This is a 2007 F-250 XLT
    6.0L V8 Diesel; 32K miles
    List $28,000
    Certified Pre Owned

I would love to get the first truck, but im about a month or two from getting full time and my one job. My brain is telling me to get the second one cause its one year newer and less miles and less $$$$$. Its still a truck id love to have. Been thinking about going out to the dealership on Wednesday to test drive it and start the bullshit process. I thought I saw a few guys on here that have Ford Diesels. How do you guys like them??

You could always get the second one then lift it and pick your own wheels for it. Either way, nice trucks!

Yea I told myself that also. Thanks

p.s. And i almost forgot. With the dodge, in the morning you have to let the truck sit for a few mins and idle. cause if you get right in it and go, you have to put the pedal to the floor just to move an inch and if your on any kind of a hill you start drifting. local dodge dealer cant find any problems.

I love the look of the newer FORD diesels, but i've heard alot of bad things about the engines. Mainly bad headgaskets. When I do step up to a diesel, it'll be a Dodge. I agree, for less money, go with the newer one and upgrade slowly.

I have about 3-4 people i know that have the 6.0L engine and I havent heard any problems. I only know one person with the new 6.4L engine and its on a F550 and he likes it. I havent really heard how the new engine is doing.

That first truck is tits billy!! seems too much $$ though. I know not long ago, Bill cyphers picked up a lifted F350 or 250? Not sure if you've seen it but similar setup to the one pictured. He paid I think 18K for it? think it was an 04 or 05 with 40k miles. I'd say keep shopping some or possible that guy will take alot less.

^^ you forgot fender flares and bug deflector

but yeah, 9k doesn't go real far on diesels tho. x2 on the earlier grille.

the 6.0 can be made relieable with very small mods, but the head studs can get kinda pricey if someone does it for you. The 6.4 gets horrible fuel mileage and i thought it hauled great but compared to new 6.6 duramax you can tell the difference in that the duramax hauled alot better and easier and got 5 to 6 mpg better. But IMO you cant get better than the cummins with a 6spd behind it
