White spark plug tips . .

My car was hesitating pretty bad for a while so i posted the issue on here. Alot of people just said it sounded like tune up issues which is also what I originally thought. I changed a few things with no luck so i moved to plugs. I changed my plugs and bam no more hesitation. i looked at my old plugs and the tops of 7/8 of them are white in appearance. From my understanding, I'm pretty sure that means that the motor is running too lean. Is this the case? If it is how do i Fix it so i dont have to replace my plugs again soon? Thanks guys
