carbed is way cheaper than efi, plus as you have heard chris's 377 is a monster, so after talking with Tim @ Rodeheavers he said he feels my best bet is a 393 stroker motor with good heads cam intake, and a big carb. so just a matter of saving up the funds to build the beast

roughly 6-7 grand for parts and labor for the motor, a used tremec is around 1000-1500 plus install, and I'm hoping I can find a used posi in good shape to keep my rear end costs to around 1000-1500 for parts and labor so roughly 10 grand maybe more, honestly didnt bother asking Tim about anything other than the motor because I dont have the cash to do any of it right now, just wanted to get a ball park idea of what I should try to save up

nice numbers... You plan on racing the car alot? IMO the 393 will probably be way more than wat you need. But that is just my opinion.. Whats your power goal?

turbo or t-trim.. I copied this statement from Rob(gmkiller) thread on his 347 build in refrence to his current/old setup

"He'll I made 505 rwhp w/ a stock motor & C.I. cam w/ 14lbs. of boost from my old S-trim. Im currently running 20lbs. w/ the T-trim on my car and will go to the dyno soon to get some new #'s. Im guessing 550-560rwhp."

Its in his 3rd paragraph of the first post in that thread. Hope You9rob) dont mind i used this sentence.. Just trying to show where i got my statement from

As long he keeps the compression down to a point where he can run pump gas safely... Oh yea we got matching cars

ya as clark stated above I'm trying to keep it na and accomplish those numbers roughly. I'm planning to have it built to hold spray, but not going to put that on until later on and I see what type of power it will make without it

you going up to the dyno day at tims? Or better yet, pm 393 rag. he had a 393 in his fox vert that was absolute SICK! I dont remember his combo but it was fast and loud.. Tim built it for him, but im sure Brian has the specs of that build, but now he has my old black car :(

I'd just do a 408W with about 10.5:1 and 500hp to run on pump gas and still like NOS.
If you already have a lot of 302 parts, a 347 would be fine but I like the big cubes, fat torque curve for a street car.

very true biminilx, we did a 408 for a guy last summer and it is making 460 to the wheels, it has untouched victor jr heads/intake, and a 620ish solid roller cam, and its totally street friendly, he drives it to my shop from 30+ miles away..
