I would personally wait untill your ready to do the tfs heads if that's the route your taking. the redesign of the heads gives the possibility of 580+ lift! you wont get anywhere close to that with the stock pi head unless your notching the pistons...

This is something I need more input on myself. I heard alot of good about the stock PI heads on our years.

I'd wait on cams if you go Trick Flow heads. From what I understand none of the current cams will work real nice with those heads. Completely different animal with the Trick Flows but a TON of potential in making crazy power NA. I have read 400-450rwhp can be possible.

If you're going to stay N/A, the Comp Cams XE262AH is good for our cars. That's like their Stage 1. You don't have to change valve springs and the rev range is like 1,500 - 5,500 which is great for the street. AND, they can still be a fairly good cam if you s/c. I don't understand all the dynamics, but if you get too extreme, then go s/c you'll just push forced induction straight through from the intake to exhaust without going in your cylinder (or something). Comp claims this model number can be used with stock gears, but I got 3.73s and I would not use anything lower than that.

Like stated above, figure out what you're going to do first. If you use somebody's Stage II with stock PI heads, you def need better springs and some people claim you'll have PTV contact if you don't get them degree'd.

Just sell that gray thing and buy my car.

there's a dyno graph in my for sale ad below.

here's a good article. he acts like he found some magical cam (and never says what it is), but at the bottom he claims you could s/c the set-up so it must be a milder cam.

the biggest thing to remember with a F/I cam is that you want to change the lsa so that the intake and exhaust valve arent open at the same time for such a long time like most cams are... a good blower cam can be worth 40 rwhp at the end of the day, and make the car more streetable..

i really suggest again buying a cam before getting the TFS heads. they can take all the way up to .600 lift (claimed) and you wont get anywhere close to that with the PI heads.

im not a very big fan of comp, trick flow, lunati, or crower for that matter. cushman motorsports (same guy that used to make VT), MPH, or custom ground would be the best way to go.

either way you do it i would make sure you install the cams around 108-110 intake centerline. youll make much more power. the problem with this is that you would def have to notch the pistons with pi heads to do that.... which is the main reason i suggest you wait and get the TFS and a custom cam at the same time.

i agree with what has already been said. you need to make up your mind on weather your going NA or FI. it will change the TFS head you buy ( 38cc or 44cc combustion chamber) and the cam that will best suite your need.

if you just want a temp holdover for the time being...i suggest the cushman motorsports stage one cam. usually see about 300rwhp with it and doesnt require a valve spring change. im not a big fan of comps, they make too many cams and have been out for to long for me to believe they did extensive testing. im sure there a quality made cam, i just believe there is more power in other cams.

whatever you do dont buy crower....ive heard horror stories of crower cams have huge quality problems.
