who else is going? The show in Cranberry should be awesome - rows and rows of Shelbys!!!!!!!

Hopefully there will be lots of GT40s and Cobras and Shelbys getting whooped on at the track too...

    Awesome thanks for posting this!
My parents decided to visit this weekend and I'll be taking my dad to this on Saturday. His '67 GT500 should be coming back from paint next month so hopefully this will light a fire under him to get it going for Carlisle next year. He also has a '66 GT350H I have my own plans for :)
Hope to see some of you on Saturday.
I've never been to Beaver Run, anyone want to meet up Sat. morning (I live in Beaver so I'm close).

#1054 is a original GT-40 it was a Gulf research ( Harmorville) team warm up car no race history, was found here in Pittsburgh in the early 80s rusting in a garage in the South hills bought it for 85K.

EFI made to look like webers...

No GT-40's for me, you need to be pretty small to fit in one of these.

The 347 SBF fits surprising well.

This guy said he's from Lower Burrell. Nice car, & appeared to be a good racer & car from what I saw on the track.

One of my favorite cars of the day. This guy drove the hell out of this rare mustang.

The starting grid for the vintage race. The white Boss 302 was kicking butt.

    Great pics!....thanks for sharing everyone.

Quad riding "mishap" kept me grounded over the weekend...would've been nice to see the vintage iron out on the track.

I really wanted to cruise with you guys to Summit but this was too good to pass up---how often will this area host something like this right?
Plus that vintage race was worth it for the sound alone, those guys were really going for it

Not the GT-40, I restored Fran's 66 Hertz , 64 Ranchero, and maintained his cobra (CSX-2268) back in the early 80s he found #1054 after i stopped doing his cars..

When fran bought the GT-40 it was a used up typical rusty Pittsburgh car, the second owner worked for Westinghouse in Monroeville and drove the car all year around the salt killed it, The rockers panels on a GT-40 hold the fuel bladders there snaked through the bulkheads, the rockers were so rusty the punctured one of the fuel bladders at a fuel stop one night by his place in Aspinwall fuel was pouring out of the rockers.

He had the chassis stripper to the bare monocoque and shipped it to Autocrafters in England for repair, it's a Lola monocoque Chassis. He paid/stole the car for 85K after the car was finished at the GT-40 reunion at Watkins Glen he turned down over 1Mil for the car then the bottom fell out of the classic car market...

It's like driving a fast RHD mail truck.:)

The red Cobra beside the GT-40 belongs to Fran too, we look at that Cobra back in the early 80s around York Pa it was sitting in a barn the body was so bad it looked like tin foil that was balled up
then stretched out and rapped over the frame it needed a rebody..

No one wanted to car for the asking price 40K i think but today it was a killer deal!
