someone on the corral is selling used 31 spline t-lok limited slip diff's for 75 bucks, what are the pros and con of these units? also how do these compare to an eaton posi or something along those lines?

they will not blow up like a eaton....lol, but anyways, i have seen people go 10s on them, you just need to get the kevlar clutch kit and a new spring with a hardened shaft..

anything I should look for when choosing a posi? is the explorer a 10 bolt?
just looking to beef up my rear end/drivetrain in prep for an engine swap, looking to support around 450-500 hp&tq. I'm just looking around seeing whats out there
A 31 spline T-lok is a good unit, they are plentyful and easy to rebuild. My dad has run one in his mid 11 second 91GT for years with HARD launches and he hasn't had any issues with it. I run an eaton but I bought it before I knew they had changed their case designs and were prone to exploding under a hard launch. I haven't had any issues but I don't clutch drop it on launch either. I'm putting the newer style carbon fiber clutch packs into my '94 cobra's stock 28 spline traction-lok right now, but this car doesn't need 31 spline axles as its not a drag oriented car.
