Well, I have not tried, actually. I have both a yellow and red dot on mine. Unless you use some sort of paint solvent I would assume it has to come off with some friction, which would remove the rubber as well.

Check out the Maximum Motorsports steering shaft compared to the stock one. This may not have been necessary but I figure why the hell not?

And here is the short block finally put in its place.

Some 4 Gage ground cables that can be had at Team Nuts or any ricer audio shop.

The hi torque mini starter and poly motor mounts installed.

The stock e7 heads installed with Trickflow Lifters and Trickflow Valve Spring Kit.

By the way, Brougher's Machine Shop is titties. They did my valve springs, retainers, all that happy horsesh!t.... and even cleaned my heads up for me... for only 50 bones. I'll be going back to him any time I need machine/engine work from now on.

Yes, Brougher's is a great place to deal with. When we had head/valve jobs and or jeep bearings pressed on at work, we sent our stuff out there to get done. Them older fella's know what theyre talking about/doing and are pretty cool to b/s with too, haha.

Sweet job on the build, looks like you have a lotta time into it.

Well I finally touched the stang again after a month. Got it timed properly. It's a beast. Here are some month old pictures of just a painted stock motor.

I just finished up a road trip in the mustang. I took it about 470 miles to Norfolk, Virginia from Pittsburgh. In total about 950 miles round trip.

The engine had a whole 110 miles clocked before I took it. Threw caution to the wind, grabbed a tool box and scan tool, and hit the road.

I got an average of 21.5 miles per gallon. I'm running 3.73:1 gears and was cruising at an average of 80 miles per hour. With my tires and that gear ratio the engine was at a constant 2500-2700 RPM. With the occasional higher speed sprints the engine was at 3000 RPM.

Considering the B-cam, gears, and engine RPM, I am very satisfied with my mileage.

Back when I replaced the rear end this summer, I changed the speedometer drive gear inside the transmission as well as the speedometer cable gear. Calibrated for 3.73:1, obviously. I never got a chance to test its accuracy before this trip. I used a GPS to compare my actual speed and the speedometer speed. It is spot on. When the GPS read 104 MPH, my speedometer also read 104 MPH. Sweet.

StangMods Bixenon HID kit is amazing. I could barely see at night with my stock bulbs, despite having clean and clear lenses. With the HIDs I was lighting up five lane highways with my low beams. High beams were even better.

I had a lot of time to think about what all I want to do to the car next...
1.) I want a 6th gear. My car is easily capable of cruising at 90 MPH due to the suspension and other goodies, but the engine RPM is just annoying.
2.) I need to fix my instrument cluster lamps. Every light on/in the car works, even the CD player illumination, but for some reason my HVAC/Cluster lights aren't working. Just an electrical gremlin to chase down.
3.) Considering my air bag system is disabled, I need to remove the bulb in the instrument cluster. It annoys me by flashing. The blue module under the dash will also need removed so I don't have to hear the beeping caused by not having a AIR BAG bulb.
4.) I need to hook my heater core back up. The g/f didn't like being cold that much.
5.) I need to somehow fix my driver's side window frame on the door. The previous owner parked the car in the city and someone tried to break in at one point. You can't tell, but the frame is slightly bent and causes a very annoying noise at high speed caused by air turbulence.
6.) I need to center my steering wheel. When I installed the Maximum Motorsports solid steering shaft, I was about one tooth off. When the car is going straight the wheel is slightly turned.

Relatively simple fixes, except for the ambitious 6 speed. My brand new Tremec T-5 has only 2,000 miles on it. The 6 speed will probably wait for a while.

In the end, I loved the road trip. I'm already planning another, probably longer one.

Thanks a lot. I pretty much did the entire car over the course of one year. I'm very happy with it.

Wait till you see the next one... but that is still a year away.
