    good price for a 390?

    so i got a 390 out of a 65thunderbird. its complete but it hasent run in 26 years. ive never heard it run but i have turned the engine with my hands. i know these are hard to find, so what would be a good price to let this go for? any advice is appreciated. thanks.

    ask somethingclever, i think he has some knowledge of those engines..

    In all honesty I don't think there's anything about it that's special....assuming it is the original engine. (meaning non-hipo)

    If it were mine I'd start it at $400 or so.

    hey John, how can you tell if it is a hi-po?? i have no idea when it comes to the FE stuff...

    Solid lifter cam for one.

    I forget what the cyl head and intake casting numbers are....

    Colin or map would know i'm sure....i forget alot of FE stuff anymore....I've seen the light of the BBF. LOL

    Probably just a stock 390 if it was in a Tbird. If you have codes, I can check to see what it is!
