    POR-15 to paint cage

I haven't done any real searching in a while (will tonight) on this but I picked some up to paint my cage this weekend.
I bought the chassis black as well as the stuff that looks like unfinished metal, I'm going to try both and see what I like.
I also got the 2 stage prep.
Anyone use this stuff or have any advice?
I know, wear gloves--got some nice surgical ones from work :)
    Thanks, J
    :burnout:

BTW, I know Bob may respond to this but I'm more interested on using this on my car not my body

I used the black on my old Chevelle's frame. If you spray it with a gun it will turn out glossy, if you paint it with a brush it will turn out flat black. I honestly don't think the stuff is as resistant to chips/scratches as they claim it is...

VHT makes paint designed for roll bars, used it years ago and it worked pretty well.

Shake it up REALLY well :D Actually, read the directions twice, don't shake it ;)

Actualy, I lok at POR15 like undercoating. Great for rusty things you want to cover up and will hang out under the car. Not so great for most other stuff.

As Lou said, I have seen several bars done with the VHT rattle cans and it looks pretty good....

Mine is rattle canned "appliance epoxy" on the main parts, and I had the removable swing outs powder coated. It looks okay after several years now.

On edit - Talk to Paul Riva, he did his with the bare metal looking stuff and it looked good at Carlisle.

I used the POR Glisten on my roll bar and it came out good. My only problem was I applied it in high humidity and it got a little wavy on me as it is cured by moisture and started curing before it completely flowed out.
