what fuel setup should I run

Ok well I picked up a Kenne Bell 1.7 twin screw for the stang and the kit is complete except for a fuel pump. It has a 9psi pulley now and 39# injectors but I'm thinkin of changin the pulley to a 15 psi. I already talked to Tim Rodeheavor and got his thoughts and I'm just tryin to get a feel for everyone elses ideas and their experiances also.

it all depends on how much fuel you need.... really no need to go really overboard, but you wanna make sure you have enough capacity to upgrade in the future if you want....

An Aeromotive A1000 should be more than enough for you... it MAY even be overkill.... I would think you'd be able to get something out of a Cobra, with a boost-a-pump, yes?

Whatever you do, don't do what I had done in my car, and that was twin pumps... I had twin Walboro 255's... there was enough fuel to supply a ton of HP, but you run a risk of one starving the other, and killing the one pump... and even worse, if one dies, you won't know because the other one is still running adn can supply a decent amount of fuel... you'll realize it when the wideband jumps unusually lean... some guys that run twin pumps put them on a toggle, so that the second only turns on when you go over a certain amount of boost.... but i still think you're better off getting a single pump ...

Not sure how much hp 15psi will make on your motor, but might wanna consider larger lines, etc also...

Well the guy I got the kit from was running it on a stock 2000 gt with only cat backs and he put down 410rwhp and 430 tq. He was running a focus svt pump with no boost-a-pump. My engine is built and I would like to see 500+rwhp. If that helps.

What size fuel injectors do you have? That's another thing you might want to think about - if you don't have enough injector, it won't matter how much fuel your pump and flow...

With a stock fuel system the focus pump is your drop in option. At 9psi you can probably get away with just that but I highly recommend a 20amp bap. Focus pumps don't support as much wheel hp as people think and a bap is safe, affordable and simple to install. Off the top of my head, I don't remember how far you can go on a focus pump with a bap, and I never want to find out either! If you don't want to build a return style fuel system, but want or need more fuel, just do the oem terminator setup. Functional, affordable, plug & play...plenty of room to grow!

No matter what you do, I would be running a lightning/cobra 90mm maf with a mafia or an sct ba2600 meter. 39lbs will handle your combo at 15 psi but you would be much better off with 60's since you are going to need tuned anyways. Better to have more fuel and support then you need, your going to keep turning up with wick anyways!

my buddies 02 gt has a 1.7 on it we put in the forced induction 255lph and he makes 14 psi with snow performance kit and its fine
the snow performance only add about a half a point in a/f ratio

I apologize in advance if I am misunderstanding you but it sounds like you are referring to a walbro gyrator pump. If so, you cant run that kind of pump with a returnless fuel system, they use turbine pumps.

we replumbed the car for a return style
mike you and i know thats thats whats needed to use that pump. i just assumed people would know that(honest mistake). its easy to do and more efficient. you can have more fuel than you need and the unused will go back to the tank.

HE DIDN'T WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY BUT HAD ALREADY BOUGHT THE PUMP AND HAD NO CHOICE
NOW HE HAS A GREAT FUEL SYSTEM AND HE IS HAPPY

not only that, but return style systems help keep the fuel in the lines and rails cool. also the pump. keep it moving= keep it cool

i bought a ford GT supercar pump. a single pump will support about 600 rwhp and is a pretty easy install. all you need to do is splice in the different connector and get a piece of gates submersible fuel line to run. there are a few write ups on modular fords forums. its so powerful you have to drill holes in your stock basket or it will suck the basket dry at wide open throttle. cobra guys run twin GT pumps to over 900rwhp.... so you know there bad ass. if you go double pumps you need the cobra tank (with baffle system) and an upgraded fpdm to run both pumps.

anywho, i got my GT pump for less than $100 shipped to my house. its on my list of winter projects, so ill let you know how the install goes for me....but ive heard nothing but good things.
