I will admit that if...IF...they win out the schedule for the other teams looks in the Steelers favor. Especially this weekends matchups.

Big play offense is only thing saving them from the 45min defense. Cause that last 15 mins they must be having a coffee break or something.

thats what seperates the average teams from the playoff teams. Interception down to the ten and a field goal, thats weak..

Can someone tell me (in a nutshell) what exactly has to happen for us to get into the wild card game (if we win next week)?

    thanks!

    Broncos play the Chiefs

    Ravens play the Raiders

    Jets play the Bengals

    Texans play Patriots

3 of them have to lose and I don't see the Broncos and Ravens losing but hey after this weekend who knows

the Steelers are 9th in line right now

i think thats wrong....we have to beat miami and the jets and texans both HAVE to lose next week. Ravens and broncos do not matter

ravens dont matter because both us and the ravens can make the playoffs. This is possible because there are 2 playoff spots left and they have to be filled by an AFC team since the NFC is already decided. if the steelers, broncos and ravens end up 9-7, they will put the tie breaker between the ravens and the broncos, and the ravens will advance since they beat the broncos. Then there will be one more playoff spot left and it will be between the steelers and the broncos. The steelers will come out on top and get the final playoff spot because we beat the broncos as well.

although houston and the jets have the same overall record as us, i think they have better division records, so that puts them in front of us.

Next week cheer for the bengals and the patriots and of course hope that the steelers win at miami

yup its over. you know what though. I am a huge Steeler fan. HOWEVER, I feel we didn't deserve to win. Also, did anyone watch Tomlin's interview on the exta point on the CW. It was totally like wtf.. He was asked did he feel there was mistakes in the games we have lost and this is why we are in our situation. Tomlin states and I quote, " I'm not here to adress those mistakes I'm here to win trophies." you ignorant a** if you would address those problems maybe we wouldn't lose they way we lose. I know you can't win them all and anything can happen on any given Sunday. But come on.

i agree, as much as i wanted them to go to the post season, they don't deserve to go after a pathetic season like this!

Tomlin's big on 'no excuses/no explanations'. I think it's a good approach, he don't want to hear nothing, just do your job and shut up. Yeah, I tried that once as a boss and the inmates were ready to shank me.

My useless stat - we lost all our games by an average of FOUR points. That's one by 7, one by 6, and five by 3. Looking at it that way we were in it a lot, but I still think we'd be draggin ass back home next week with a 21 point dent in our helmets.

I blame most, if not all our 3rd/4th quarter loses to coaching. We stopped doing what gave us the lead. Cowher used to do that shit all the time. Arians is someone to really blame this on. We need to keep the foot on the pedal, not coast around and hope we hold on.

There is a laundry list of reasons why our season is over, as much as I wanted to see them squeek in the playoffs I am glad they didn't, they don't deserve it. I will enjoy watching the playoffs but the draft is when I will get excited again...

That is the best part about not making the playoffs. If they don't take a defensive back in the 1st or 2nd round, the entire scouting department and front office needs to get punched directly in the nut sack.

I don't know what happened in that 5 game stretch. Maybe they were overlooking KC, Oakland, and Cleveland. And in the beginning, in the loss to Cincy, coming off the win in Denver, maybe they were looking past the Bungles too. It's a shame, you can actually say we missed the playoffs by a single play, and have a number to choose from (Burnett dropping the INT on Oakland's last drive, Heath letting that pass in KC slip through his hands and turn into an INT, insert kick/punt return runback here). I think the Steelers would have been dangerous in the playoffs, but without Troy to disrupt offensive game plans, I didn't see a return to the Super Bowl. Outside of a few play calls, I'm good with Arians. This team scored points, it was the defense allowing them in the 4th quarter that sunk the season. I think the coaching staff has a lot to learn from this season, and I hope they did.

Go Arizona, with all the Pittsburgh connections.

team scored a ton of 1st half points...2nd half was a different story. Good point about AZ having ties with pittsburgh. Plus I lived there for 10 years...
