    Bought a house.

I've been looking at apartments for a while now and what they wanted me to pay in rent was ridiculous so I just decided to purchase a home.

So, this is what I bought. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths. I close on the 23rd of September.

The house is located in Pittsburgh on Troy Hill, in a very good part of that neighborhood. I have an excellent view of the river and the strip district/city from my back deck.

Things that I liked about the house:

    New vinyl siding.
    All new windows.
    Newer roof.
Brand new high efficiency, 2 stage furnace.
    Brand new hot water tank.
Brand new shed, wired for electricity.
    Brand new asphalted driveway.
Newer carpet on the stairs and on the whole 2nd floor.
Washing machine, dryer, stove/oven, fridge and a second fridge in the basement.
    Central Air.
    Security system.
    HD Satellite.
Back deck with built in seating.
EDIT: The house was also just fully re-wired and upgraded to a 150 amp box as well.

That's just a few things that come to mind.

Here are a few pics of the exterior of it (crappy iPhone pics):

No, it doesn't have a garage or a very large yard. I guess that's usually what you give up to live in the city but those things are not important to me at this moment of my life.

I just had my home inspection yesterday and the inspector couldn't believe how good the house was maintained and how great of shape it's in for its age.

I'm pumped. I can't wait to close and move in. Just thought I'd share.

Congrats man! Looks like it was built not too long ago, honestly. Bet that view from the back porch at night looks pretty sweet too.

Thanks for all the kind words guys....and girls. It's been a long process and still isn't over yet but I feel it will all be worth it in the end.

It's funny you guys bring up the view at night, seeing as how I actually grabbed a picture of it.

Again, it's with my iPhone so the picture really doesn't do it justice.

Cool. I've heard a lot of good things about Reserve. If you're ever down on Lowrie Street, feel free to stop by for a cold one.

Oh yea? Are you talking about down by 28 or across the river in the Strip?

Across the river to the left of the bridge in lawrenceville, still lots of pretty good places there to hang out, some not so good. The strips ok, but I would go to the south side before hanging there.

Absolutely. One of my neighbors has his office in Lawrenceville. Since it's so close to my work, I've spent some time down there too. I looked at a few houses down there as well. It's definitely a nice place.

There's a good bar/restaurant on 49th & hatfield street called stinkys, great place with very good food. It's one block below butler street, try it out sometime.

Actually, I think I've passed that place a few times in the past few weeks when I drive through that area. I'll most certainly have to check it out. To be honest, I need to learn a lot of nice spots to go to in the city since I currently live North of the city.

As I said there are some good places to go, if you are unsure of a place let me know and I can give you a heads up on where and where not to go.
