the one i use for my traffic channel is pretty nice and reaches the farthest out of all mine and it goes out 2 to 5 miles depending how many bends there are

oh hand helds only go out half mile at the most

ok, just wondering because the unit that is built into my boat reaches a good bit, but wasnt sure the range on the hand helds, thanks for the heads up
