I built the rear end using a GT companion flange, pictured on the left is the IRS Cobra companion flange. 6-speed solid axle can retain the OEM cobra drive shaft if you use the cobra companion flange. Standard output C4 solid axle can use the fox body aluminum drive shaft with a gt companion flange.

looking good mike, have you put in on scales yet?
No yet, when the car is all done and the suspension is ready to be setup. Old car weighed 3180 without me, hoping for sub 3k, less me.

Thanks bud, stop down with the new truck! Wait till we put a tune on her I think I have 1 X3 left in stock

What kind of wheels did you end up going with mike?
Haven't purchased wheels yet but they will be the black aluma stars from earlier in this thread. Same with the rears, they are coming out with a black version of them as well

Anybody want to buy that bad ass 8.8 that I built for the car? If so, ring me at the shop...I will make someone a good deal!

I have pretty much received full sponsorship for the rest of the build, many things have changed so I will have some nice parts for sale

For sure! Lou and I got to check out alot of their products at SEMA a few years ago. Curious why you're going with the 9" though? An 8.8 can live under a 1,200 rwhp car with no issues with the aftermarket that exists for them.

I don't disagree with you but the car will come out on a built motor that more then likely will have a big twin screw. Without the option of a pro gear for the 8.8, r&p's start to become a weak link and I am sure I will be hitting the tires pretty hard! When I swapped in the 3.55's after the c4 in my old car, the 4.10's had some missing teeth! The auto doesn't shock the parts and tires as hard but with the help I am getting, I just want to do everything right the first time

Thanks guys! Car is at Team Z now, not sure when I will get it back and really don't care to be honest! Busy at the shop and it is nice to have it out of my hair! I decided to have them mini tub the car, their tin work is so nice and they do a sweet job of tying everything together, just didn't make sense not to do it now! It will be an 8.50 cage but I am having them construct it with some of the initial bar work for a 25.5. chassis. This will make it a much more affordable and easier upgrade for down the road when I am ready! I asked Dave to take some pictures along the way, I will post up some updates when I can. Discovery channel was starting to setup up for a chassis build off while I was there! Look for my turd in the background when the program airs!

For anyone looking for this kind of work, well worth the trip out and back as well as the money. Dave is a great guy, knows his stuff and their work is really unbelievable. We are also a dealer for his suspension components if any of our in shop customers are interested.

    Thanks!

    Mike

Must be some soft leaving 1200 rwhp buggy. It's not the amount of power in some cases, it's the application of it. There are examples of grenaded 8.8's with rwhp #'s in the 450-470 range. Even less than that in other instances, e.g., 363 rwhp @ 2,950 race weight. In addition, the ease of gear swaps and the ratio selection are in favor of the 9", by far.
