    What to do this winter?

I'll be back at PITT in the fall for my 6th semester and I'll be done with class around 1 pm everyday. I don't live on campus and have already spent enough time working on the mustang. (2 major projects within the past year, only 2 months of driving it so far this summer).

I'm in school for structural engineering and already have a job for when I graduate (that I currently work every other semester).

I wouldn't mind getting a part time job if only to learn from it, but not too many interesting job opportunites are available at such odd hours of the day. Screw restaraunts and retail.

Should I try to go to night school to become a certified welder? (I already know how to weld but would like to get cert. for shits and giggles).

Too bad there aren't any engine building/maching schools around here, at least not that I know of.

Any ideas pertaining to structural engineering(profession) or automotive(hobby)?

First off, don't do anything to jeopardize your degree and job in your field. Stay up on your studying, etc.

Which campus are you going to? If you're going in Oakland, how about asking Pittsburgh Crankshaft (Homewood/Point Breeze area) if they need someone in the afternoons? Pretty sure they sell parts, and do machine work. You can find other machine shops if you're at one of the other campuses. How about working at Advance or NAPA? Check out CCAC/WCAC and see if they offer a welding program that fits your schedule?
