had the same problem with the same setup, i have an 01 GT also, tried everything people suggested, took it to the dealer, they say its the throttle position sensor, i pick it up today so we shall see if that helps, ill keep you posted
I have the one off my 04 GT still that Im not planning on using.

sorry it took so long to respond, net went down for a few days. they put the new tps on and it runs like a dream now =D
