    Another Low Mileage Failure...

Over the last few months I have seen quite a few low mileage cars needing new motors, trannys, rearends etc. The 98 cobra we did gears in yesterday needed bearings and races, only had 15K miles. Put a new 2v motor in a gt a month or 2 ago that only had 2x,000 miles. This automatic 2v with 11K miles just left today with a new 4r70w...

Man I feel lucky. 97K hard miles with 100's of 1/4 mile and fld passes and my 4R70W never missed a step.

No clue, only mods to the car are a CAI, midpipe and catback. Overdrive went out when he was getting on it...

my cobra with 9K miles had a bad crank bearing /rod on the #5 cylinder.
ford thinks it's "possible" could have been a manufact defect

all fixed now and after some bitching i got a free 3 yr 36K powertrain warranty from ford.

    that sucks!

well, at least he'll be able to hammer down when he gets it back and not have to worry about it for quite some time.

the 4r70ws are some tough tranny's i've heard

Is the owner of that silver GT an older guy? I think I met him at the Wexford cruise a few weeks ago. Really nice fella and a very clean car. Sorry to hear about the tranny. I mentioned your shop to him, as he was considering gears ( going back and forth between 4.10s and 3.73s ), and he said he had already spoken with you - and that you liked the 4.10s

That sounds like him. We installed full length subs, cai, mid pipe and cat back for him a month or so ago. He couldn't afford the gears at that time and isn't sure what ratio to go with. I never put numerically less then a 4.10 in a mod car unless the customer makes me!!!
