    procomp heads

alot of people doubt the procomp heads and here is just another test of them proving themselves
i run these on almost every motor i build

    http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co...est/index.html

for the price you can't beat them less than 650 for a set of 210 cc heads
for under 800 you can get your entire valvetrain thats even after you order the .100 longer pushrods from summit for $90
if anyone out there is looking to do a head swap give these heads a shot
    they come in 190, 210, 210cnc, 230cnc

on aside note, i have used and sold a bunch of their heads and they need a good bit of machine work to be right, but they can make good power, I have a set on my big block car and it goes 9.70s on pump gas..

I have a set of those 190cc heads for my 351. Mine don't look all that bad out of the box and just need some minor clean up. I figured hell for the price they are better then the boat anchor cast iron sets I had.

Im sorry but those heads are garbage.....You get what you pay for....

463 hp and 480tq on an engine dyno out of a 408 is crap!
505 hp and 489tq with them cnc'd is an even bigger joke.

A little well put together 347 or 331 will make over 500 hp on an engine dyno.

These heads need ALOT of work to make them right, calve job, clean-up, all new valvetrain parts.
A guy on another board fixed a set of these and had over $800 in just making them right. Now how's that for budget?
Thats $1500 in these heads and there still a huge step below comparable price range heads......

I couldn't find the compression ratio. If its 8.XX-1, I could see it being a n/a dog.

What do you think a set of their as cast 190's be like on a stock bottom end 5.0? Would they be comparable to the GT40?

It's not just flow that make them a not-so-good choice, but as gmkiller pointed out, the hardware is also questionable.

I would run a cyl head with good flow AND good hardware.

those numbers were on 91 octane pump gas, and the pistons had a 22 cc dish. I think those numbers weren't bad at all.

I agree the numbers are definately respectable IMO. But the hardware that comes with them has proven to be questionable on a street/strip ride.
