An 8.8 will handle almost anything you will put out as long as you have the good parts in it to support it. 9" Is an awesome rear and could have several carriers with different gears for a semi quick change setup. They do rob power being as heavy in parts as they are. Stick with an 8.8 they are readily available and tons of parts for them. Plus they are simple bolt in and dont cost a fortune to always have fabbed in with brackets.

Look at the rear Wolfpack is building. 8.8 w/ 9" ends, welded and braced. That thing will be damb near bulletproof.

A carbon copy will be going in my car as well soon.

are you building a rocket ship? (no) 8.8 with 31 spline axles and spool and girdle will be plenty, if you wanted to, u can brace the rear end, but I think thats over kills

You might as well have the tubes welded and have it braced since its going to be out of the car and getting new axles.

Stay with the built 8.8 they've run at least low 8s.
I only went with a 9" because my dad rebuilds them and has lots of parts.

i have seen em go 8s before, if i had the choice to do it over again, i would have built an 8.8 for my instead of a 9"

The price to do said work pales in comparison to the price it takes to break a properly equipped one due to too much hp.
