I was looking at the hoosiers and they dont seem to be recommended for street use. Is this because of the poor tire life or will the things come apart if loaded in turns? Or is it because they are bad @$$ cheater slicks that have no treads and just grooves. I bet they hook like I want but rain would be an all out NO NO.

Hoosiers only have the grooves so they are not great for street use and rain is a NO NO.

I remember George on here, (Jive pepper) refused to drive home from prp in the rain with them. Said it was a wreck waiting to happen.

After spending all weekend looking and reading I am down to two tires. MT street radials and the Hoosiers. The Hoosiers seem to have less sidewall strength than the MT so now I just need to make up my mind but I am leaning to the MT side. Thanks for your input guys!!

I only got about 500miles on the first set of 335 Hoosiers Ryan. That was some strip, flashlight drags and street. They are really soft.

How did the MT radials work for you? I think I remember you running them at one point but I could be wrong.

The only MT's I had were the ET Streets you bought from me and I never ran them on the street.

Just picked up some MT Et street radials for my car. The seem really soft, as soon as I get my new alternator and send my old tires off I'll let you know how they are.

I used nothing but the MT ET Streets on my car.... i loved 'em... they were able to hook all the power that my car was delivering, and the life wasn't the worst I had every seen... unless your doing burnout after burnout, 500 miles is a rediculous lifespan... I was at about 50% tire left when i sold the car, and i had put 2500 miles on the tires... I never did any burnouts b/c i didn't want to be replacing the tires, but everytime the car was on the road, i ran it through the gears and the tires never failed me... And the best part was, I got the car back in the mid 30 degree days of early spring, and when the tires did spin, they always spun underneath the car - they never kicked the car sideways and out of control... that could be partially due to the diff i put in the car as well, but it was a nice feeling...

Maybe look into getting a set of diamond racing wheels. 16x10. they clear in the back of a irs cobra and are dirt cheap. that way you can just bolt them on for track days, then you got the best of both worlds, I was gonna go that route for alittle bit but changed my mind and decided to just go all out drag set-up

If you can get past the ugly the Diamond wheels work well.

I have a set of ET street cheater slicks on a set of black 03 Cobra rims. I just need more of a street tire for the non-track weekend fun.

This is with a MT drag radial size 305/35/18:

If you have a set of "cheater slicks" for the track, I'd do that 315/35/17 MT ET drag radial.
