Well I'm glad you had a positive review of the event. I wish I could of been there. As far as the event being bigger and better... ABSOLUTELY! Being a younger guy that likes both modern muscle/performance as well as the Nostalgia racing, I believe that they are two completely different kinds of racing and you CAN'T please both at the same time. To make a true nostalgia event work, there has to be set and strict rules as far years, electronics, trans brakes, etc... However, in my opinion the prior management saw dollar bills going out the window when newer cars threatened they would not show. The thing I don't think they realize is the amount of cars/interest they would get in return if they had a sole event for these nostalgia guys. I know people have offered time, resources, and even some money to help volunteer to make the event go off, and they were turned down. Like I said previously, I like all kinds of racing and cars and want to see PRP succeed. I'm not much of a racer right now, but I do take pride in calling it my home track...

To the contrary, I thought it was a pretty nice crowd on Saturday. I got there after 3, and the spectator count was pretty nice. The nostalgia funny cars and FED slingshots were really cool. I'll be posting pics once I get a chance to upload them to PB. The car cruise had a nice turn out and different cars, but I never made it over there, just saw them from a distance and as they rolled out. The only thing that seemed to lack was more cars taking fun run/time trial passes. Once the funnys and FEDs were done, stock/super stock needed some cool down between rounds, and there weren't enough cars to fill the time void. Bill Truby's pics from PID are worth the price of admission alone.

Bill Truby, Bob Wenzelburger, and others feel the same way as you do, that it can be a bigger, better event. I think the day was successful enough to the point where management realizes what it can be.
