    Whats going on at PRP

There is a bunch of management changes at PRP. I wonder if anything will change for the better or (hopefully not) worse.

Not sure exactly what has happened but the changes in management are very big. Knowing Greg it is for the better I'll find out one way or the other come saterday. If not sooner.

It can only get better. I used to be at that place as much as anyone, every race day, every TnT (either running or watching) all the Friday deals, etc. The current management did enough to mostly drive me away that I only went when there wasnt a better choice. EVERYWHERE else I went this year found some way to show me I was appreciated for being there, have NEVER felt that way at PRP.

I started going to PRP in 2003 and have made hundreds of passes there. I have also been to several tracks up and down the east coast and as far west as Gateway. PRP is by far the worse track as a whole that I have ever been to. I truly hope that what ever is going on that they learn to shut their mouths and open there eyes and ears. They continuously shit on their customers and do all the wrong things to make PRP a better place to race...

I say be patient, Greg is a good guy & I think he could help make thing's better for ALL of us (T&T guy's included). hopefully the first thing he does is find a better way to handle rain out's.

Yes, there have been some changes, as outlined on the new site. If you have heard any outrageous rumors, like the track is closing, they are completely false. The site outlines all the changes. Period.

First off, Frank is my friend, and I will miss seeing him at the track. But, time marches on. Changes, anywhere, are never done with the intention of making things worse. Give things a little time, as there are only 2 months left this season. The current state of the economy presents a hard market all the way around, for sponsors, shows, racers, and spectators. It's a challenging environment for any business.

I know alot of people don't like PRP. I am still just glad to have somewhere to go. I can't really say I ever felt unwelcome there or was treated bad by anyone. There were 2 un-called for rain (race, I don't know about TNT) days this year. Other than that they did rain out. You can't blame them for the weather. I know there are other problems up there too. Hopefully everything will work out for the best. The track is a business, and they had to get crushed by the rain outs this year on top of the bad economy as was already mentioned. They should have some kinda of Racer input. IMO a Saturday rain out should = a Sunday race day.

to go a little further with the rain out's, just because it's raining or looks like rain at 8 am, cancel the jr's & take a look at running the rest of us at 11 am or so. it's pretty frustrating to have a race day canceled too early just because of the jr's.

Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas have not been affected by the "economy" as much as other states and city's have. PRP's lack of growth/decline is a direct result of poor management...PERIOD. I agree with Glenn and Larry that we need to be glad to have somewhere to race as well as be patient in regards to the future. With that said though, actions speak louder then words. PRP's staff talks a big game publicly but they just don't walk the walk...

I think we all know when the rainout calls were the wrong call. I believe, with confidence, that I can say that will change. The forecast will not dictate the race day... the actual weather will.

In another note, I don't know if it will be for this weekend... but TCR will start running separate from juniors, and hopefully the class will grow.

IMO, TCR is where the focus should be anyway. how many time's have all of us saw a miserable (ie. sad) kid in a junior dragster? I know I've seen plenty. I think a lot of parent's live vicariously thru their kids in that class.

While I'm not as sure this area hasnt been affected, I couldnt agree more about the management.

I have been hit pretty good with 1 week off a month through most of the year, then a pay cut to start July. Didnt kill me, but sure cut in to my extra monies. My problems for sure.

None the less, I still managed to race, and in the end have probably spent more (tow, tolls, fuel, etc) to go where I felt welcome than spending less to race at PRP (drive up and race). It wasnt the economy that drove it for me, it was a direct result of management there. Things like taking $5 / time trial off the racers rain checks on a race day is absolute crap. The rocks with no resolution in sight, and the BS in the staging lanes is just stupid and getting worse.

They have a chance there to earn me back as a customer, we will see what comes.

It's not that this area hasn't been affected, just not as much as other city's like Detroit! I will give them another shot when my car is ready, if it's the same ol sh$t I will go somewhere else.

As long as they don't change their schedule in the next two months I'm happy- I NEED some cool weather Test&Tunes in September/October!! I've been looking forward to late season T&Ts at PRP all year- if they get cancelled I'm going to be super pissed.

The best change for PRP is not a management change. An ownership change is needed. Moving people around with existing owners is not going to change a thing. Wolfpack is correct, PRP has been impossible to deal with. I am basing this on track rentals in the past. However, most of this was due to Frank being the track manager.

We Need Some People That Give A $hit About The Racers And Drag Racing To Run The Track!they Also Have Way To Many Cars For Test And Tune, maybe They Should Have A Street Car Tnt Day And A Race Car Tnt Day. And Rain Days Wow! Its Like They Dont Wanna Open The Track, They Call The Race Because It Rained The Day Before. If You Dont Wanna Run The Track Or Open It Maybe You Should Hire Some People That Give A $hit! the people that dont see the problems have never been to other tracks and see how a track should be run!

Friday night street car "grudge racing" would be awesome. Timed 1/4 mile test and tune, run as many times as you can.

They would get a crowd every time!

it is terrible how the track prep is out there as well
i see street cars with cheater slicks blowing them off. how can a car making over 600rwhp expect to. prp needs to take some of the money made and invest it back into the track. what happened to no more gravel (all blacktop) this last off season, that they talked about last year so many times.

Grass where the stones are would be great too. Alot of people like to set up tents and canopys. Take a walk up past the finish line on the LH side of the track, its all grass.
