I have the late model big bearing ends. You can run Explorer/SVO brakes or many aftermarkets like Wilwoods.
Personally if I was doing it again I'd get the 9" ends that allow you to keep the factory Mustang rear brakes (I think Strange has that option but not sure).
    Good luck.

Moser pretty much makes all their axles custom, so you can order them any way you want..

yep, the bearing gets pressed onto the axle and has a retaining sleeve that presses on after the bearing for double saftey, and the horse shoe looking things goes over the axle once its in place and holds it all in place.. i will try to dig up a pic of it all for you..

The link I posted are 9" axle ends, just designed to work with mustang brakes is all. works for stock backing plates etc.....They hold the axle in the same way regular 9" ends are.

There is a way to run stock brakes if you don't want to buy new ones.

Moser makes an end with an 8.8 bolt pattern. It uses the small 9" ford sealed bearing. You have to do a little machining on the stock brake bracket to make this end work. Moser will give instructions.

Mark Williams(I have these) and Strange Makes an 8.8 end that uses the big ford sealed bearing.

I have a set of North Race Car 8.8 Brake Brackets with a bearing counter bore the serves as the bearing retainer and caliper mount.

The bracket goes on the axle first then you press the bearing on. The hole on the bracket is smaller than the bearing diameter. You can see the how the bracket is milled down. This is to accommodate the bearing which sticks out of the end slightly when seated.

Then you put the 4 bolts into the bracket/end and now when you snap an axle the wheel doesn't fly off as the bearing is retained.

This is the correct axle end you need for the 8.8 housing like I had posted before!

That moser end is an 8.8 brake bracket bolt patter - Small Ford Bearing End. It is to use stock brakes.

If he wants to use the wilwood stuff he needs the Late Ford Big End.
