Anyone brew their own from a kit or raw ingredients? I've got some experience with wine and brewing beer doesn't seem that complicated. Seems like its just two extra steps (using heat to malt and then adding sugar at the end for carbonation).
Anyone do it before and have a recommendation on a kit? I prefer lagers.
I leave again on Saturday, back on the TsingTao survival plan for a few weeks. I need to get in shape because after China its back to India and living on Kingfisher.
Was picking up a wine kit today and saw this "beer in a bottle". For 6 bucks if it sucks I'm not out much. The instructions say you just drop a yeast tablet right into malt in the bottle, put on the special pressure regular cap that comes with it, and let it sit for 1-2 weeks. Then put it in the fridge for 12 hours (I assume to kill the yeast) and serve. For 6 bucks and that little effort I figured "why not?". I'll let you know how the beer is.

Yeah, let us know. Sounds pretty interesting/easy.
^^^ it does look easy. It seems there are a few competitors out there selling a similar product, so you might be able to find the equivalent in your local beer/winemaking store.
This particular company is out of Ontario, but since its non alcoholic at shipment you can probably get this brand down there.
I was down at the Market district/place in the Strip a few weeks ago and pick't up a Growler of "And sat down be CIDER" East End Brewing Co. Beer! I also recently had some Railbender Ale and some Duquesne Pilsener Beer too!!

Also picked up a case of the seasonal release of Yuenglings Bock Beer... It was reintroduced last winter for the first time in 41 years. If you see a case I'd recommend picking it up, it is fantastic.
