So, today Mrs. Troll and I go to the Christian W. Klay Winery 11th Annual Chili Cook-Off.

It was very nice, but as I'm eating my 2nd bowl of chili and we're on our 2nd bottle of George Washington Red or whatever-the-fvck it was, I said, "You know what would be good with this?"

I say this about 50 times a day and Mrs. Troll will still say, "WHAT?"

And, whether I'm eating bubble gum, birthday cake or brushing my teeth, I say, "BEER".

fooking WINE and CHILI ??? who came up with this blasphemy?

they did have a chile pepper eating contest and some crazy mo fo ate 6 (read: six, 6, six, 6) little, round, red habaneros RAW.

I swear he had tears coming out of every pore on his head. He won and they gave him a BBQ apron with a big red chile on it.

Anyone heading to Penn Brewery for Oktoberfest tomorrow night? Always a good time so I think I'm going to "try" to get down there ... G20 BS!

something beer bad happened to me. I made the mistakes. I can't blame anything or anyone else. I took tomorrow off work (which will definitely be discussed at a later date with pics) and I left my stash run down to 3 beers. I did not get more beer till today. I got it warm at lunchtime and put it in the car. I put it in the fridge at 4:xxpm. I had to cut grass and do other things. I thought the 3 would hold me till the others got cold. They didn't. Now, I'm drinking 80-90% cold beer.

You want to talk about "beer bad".....

Last weekend my Aunts boyfriend came over to shoot AR's. I had no cold beer. I grabbed 12 beers and tossed them in the deep freezer in the basement.

we went shooting.

Came back maybe an hour and a half later, and my wife walks out in the driveway with 2 beers. Nice. We end up going up into the living room to BS and we are drinking cold beer from the fridge..... They were in there the whole time..... Yesterday my wife needed me to grab a roast out of the deep freezer before I left for work... guess what was exploded all over the deep freezer? 12 cans of beer!

That is severe alcohol abuse. I'm not sure how to make ammends to the gods of beer, but my punishment should be severe!

that's funny. we did that one time at a friend's house... trying to get it cold fast and forgot about it in there. ummm... we were 16

and when his mother found it, she went absolutely bananas.

Quoted here for words to live by :D I travel a lot, and always credit "keeping 'em flushed" with not getting sick eating all those odd things :D In addition to the flushing, keeps the PH up enough nothing is going to move in and stay ;)

I LOVE cold beer. But... It's also clearly an American thing. I'm sure you all hear about "warm" beer in other countries. Although most places don't serve it as cold as we like, it's usually pretty chilled to the point you will get condensation on the glass.

My dilema is always in China. The western places keep the beer cool (not cold) but get $2.50-$3.00 a beer. The Chinese generally don't drink cold drinks, so the local places are much closer to warm but only .35-90 cents a beer. Seems like a hell of a premium for refrigeration :D

Don't waist your time driving down to Penn. I guess they are not having Oktoberfest this year? ... I felt like such a tool, I had a car full of people and they were Closed??? We went to plan "B" Church Brew Works! They're having their own version of Oktoberfest with a special Oktoberfest menu and a German accordion player bouncing around. MAN they had some real tasty "High Octane" beers on the board (one named B-20 after the summit

) and the food was great as usual!

While I was there I just discovered they have an awesome dinning courtyard area. Check it out before they close it for the winter, it's super cool!
