What is being done to enhance the BB and what is it, a 429 or a 460? Is it going to be a stroker? Solid roller cam?

If you have yet to get a cam, may I suggest Scott Main at CamResearchCorp.com.

His cam won me a title in 3 clubs for sled pulling. He is a bit unusual and opinionated, but once you get past that.... you discover that his life is the 385 series Ford engines... and he knows whats going on.

If your running DOVE heads, look into a set of his port plates, or buy mine that I have from before I got the DOOE-R heads!

Check out his site, he has some nice things.

Should be an easy low 12/high 11 car...

I had a stock 460 with a carb, intake, cam, headers and went 12.1's @ 112 on 17" DR's with a pretty stock c6 and 3.50 gears. Car weight was a hefty 3520 and your fox should come in a little lighter.

Best part is that I had less money in that whole engine than most people have in a set of decent SBF cyl heads.

well im probably gonna ditch the stock heads and do a set of pro-comps. it should make decent power... but like i was saying i dont think itll break 31spline axles.. and im gonna do a C4 to save weight..im thinking about installing chromoloy(spelling) bumper bars to cut down on weight. im saying high 11's low 12s to be modest it could be faster who knows i dont wanna have high expectations and get left down lol

Do yourself a favor and do not get pro comp heads.

And this is coming from a seriously low-buck guy....they're not worth it.

Either run the stockers or see how much 03snakeplissken wants for his D0OE-R's and get a piston with some dish to keep the compression at pump gas level.

    Or

Get a set of real alum heads.....SCJ, TFS streets, P-51's, BT's...etc.

Lem Evans has a SMOKIN deal on SCJ's right now, and if you're buying pistons anyway, you can get the correct ones for those heads.

Unless your heading north of 700HP (crank), a DOV-E casting with good porting will be just fine. You can make fine HP wit the C8 to DO casting, even the D3 is not bad. PI and DOOE-R heads are a smal step up, but past that the new Kasse heads.

As for Lem and Charlie..... only Doctor Charlie will ever touch my heads. F'ing unreal what he does.

My 521 went to Lem and Charlie and when it left it was a SVO block 521 with EX heads and intake with a single Pro-Systems Dom running only C-14, no drugs or boost. It put out just shy of 1,000 HP.... natually aspirated... on gas..... single carb.

It's the Allum FMS SCJ A-460 head. Jon Kasse is the designer, sorry for confusing you. Cal Lem at BF Evans Ford in Owenscoro KY for a price and see if he may have a used set. Have Charlie do your porting... now or later.... Charlie is special!

The A-460 heads (newer ones) are a redesign that Jon did to correct for some of the shortcomings in the original. Jon did design the old A-460 head as well, but as he grew up/older.... he got wiser and technology allowed him to go rethink some points of the design and enhance them. If you want a head you can grow into, go with the new Kaase FMS A-460 head. If you want a head that will require 500+ci and support nearly 600ci as you grow.... the EX-514 works great there.

Charlie Evans felt that my 521 was about as small an engine as my EX-514 heads would support, any smaller CI would have too slow of port velocity and...blah blah, you know what I mean.

Inkdcountryboy said he didn't want to spend the coin on a set of $1700 SCJ's. I really don't think he'll be considering EX514 or similar.

He also said this engine will be 460ci, not 521-600.

Remember this is a low-buck pump gas street car that will (*I'm assuming*) get a solid flat tappet cam.
