Don't forget that one of those TD's for the Chargers was the turnover by Logan on special teams. Ryan Clark was hurt before the half and played the rest of the game with a sore back and a hip pointer. I agree that the D sucked in the 4th quarter though. Hopefully our O-line and running game can continue to develop, and Ben and the WRs and Heath keep lighting it up thru the air. Tonight's game was encouraging from that standpoint. I think our D will rally and make the needed adjustments and have a good showing against the Lions and Browns, and be ready to lay the smack down against AP and the Vikings in 3 weeks!

And THANK YOU NEW ENGLAND for beating the Ravens today! Too bad the Browns couldn't pull out the game against the Bengals though.

2-2. Let's hope we can string a few W's together now...

Week 5 in Detroit - a WIN is a WIN is a WIN. Not pretty, but at least we got the "W". Ben was solid except for the - uh - pick-6... Rashard looks good. Heath and Hines are absolutely MONEY. Let's hope that LeBeau keeps sending pressure like in the last drive.

Gotta love Cinci beating the Ravens and Denver beating the Pats! Hopefully the Vikings can beat the Ravens next week while we're ( hopefully ) beating up on the Brownies...

Troy should be back for the Vikings game in 2 weeks - I actually hope that he doesn't play next week against the Browns...we will definitely need him to shut down AP.

Aaron Smith out at least 3 months for rotator cuff surgery. That sucks... He's a complete stud on the D-line... Hopefully the backups are better prepared than 2 years ago when he went down late in the season and everyone ran thru our left side...

Hopefully he'll get the chance to play in January...and February...

OMFG the CBS annoucers are fn stupid. Whining about the first down call when it's clear the camera was off angle to the ball. Then going on about Wards non catch that was called correctly as much as I hate have a TD taken away.

Troy didn't look close to 100% today. Not sure why he was even in the game. At least Ben lit up the Browns' secondary and our defense only allowed one TD. The offense tried to make it interesting with the fumbles in the 2nd half, but the Browns are so bad I wasn't even worried.

Next week the Vikings come to town - with AP fresh off of a 100+ yard outing against the Ravens. We are going to have our hands full. I hope TV doesn't move the game to 4pm - I like getting home around 5:00 after the early game.

    Exclamation

All have to say is if the Steelers play second half football like they have been, the Vikings have a good chance of winning the game.

Not trying to rain on anyones parade, but that's just what I've been noticing about Steelers games this year.

They get ahead early, then the bottom drops out in the second half(14 point lead winds up being a 3 point lead).

I think everyones noticed that, Lol.

I can't see the steelers winning this game. Mabey We can pull one out against Denver though. I have to laugh when people say we have an easy schedule this year. It's really not.

The Ravens sure made the Broncos look beat-able today. Let's hope we can get it done at Invesco Field next Monday night!!! This stretch will tell us a lot about our team - the Broncos are pretty solid, and the home game vs the Bengals will be huge. The Chiefs stink, but we play them at Arrowhead. Then the big game at Baltimore. Hopefully this will be an exciting month!

What a defensive statement tonight in Denver! I've never been a Kyle Orton fan, but our D shut down what had been a relatively solid Broncos rushing attack and an offense that had taken good care of the football. The effort is even more impressive when you realize we did it without Aaron Smith, Kirschke, Timmons, and Clark.

NOW it looks like Troy is back!! That guy is amazing!! We're lucky to have him on our side...

Our offense struggled in the first half, but that was due more to Denver controlling the ball ( but not scoring points ). Kudos to the entire offense buckling up the chin straps and getting the job done in the second half. Ben contiues to improve and put his stamp on this offense. And I agree with Steve Young - if our running game continues to perform like this - watch out!! Defenses won't know what to do against us.

How about Santonio OWNING Champ Bailey tonight! And Hines' bubble-screen TD jumping over Bailey was awesome.

Is it just me...or does EVERY Steelers fan cringe when Limus Sweed steps onto the field?!?! Please Tomlin - don't put him in the game unless we're up by 20 with 2 minutes to go...at least not yet. The kid is not ready and his head is not on straight. Mike Wallace...Mike Wallace...Mike Wallace...yeah, put him in!!

Mendenhall is improving quickly and the O-line is giving him holes to run through. I just want to see him play a little smarter. On our last drive - the play he cut back to the left and broke a long gain - he ran out of bounds instead of keeping the clock running. On the near-fumble at the goal line, he was too jazzed up to get into the endzone and slipped and nearly botched the handoff. I guess those things will come as he gains experience. Still, he had a great game in a place that is very difficult to play. And I do have to give him credit - in the postgame interview with Stu Scott, Steve Young, and that douchebag Matt Millen, Rashard was very sharp and said all the right things.

Now we're on a collision-course with the Bengals on Sunday. I can't wait!! I wouldn't sell my tickets for $1000 this week!! Should be awesome!!

So umm will the real Steelers step forward.

That was just a sad showing. Nothing but boring field goals from both teams. Tons of dropped passes from Steelers. Way to many pass attempts and nothing which looked like an attempt to get a run game going to let Ben throw the ball easier. Nothing of that game made me think they should have won with crappy play. Looks like the Bungals have the division unless the Browns somehow manage to do something.

who is the special teams coach? does anybody know his home address? :biting:

yeah, that was just sad. It looked to me like the Bungholes showed up and assumed the attitude of the Steelers and their style of play and beat us at our own game on our own field. that was a well practiced, studied and coached team.

The offense just looked flat. I'm going to blame it on the change back from Denver's altitude Monday night. Good excuse as any other, right?
