great reason to use an sfi flywheel

i follow the work these guys do a little and they were on their way to dyno an engine they were building when they realized the left the flywheel at home, so instead of calling it a day, they decided to use a good stock flywheel they had laying in the shop and the rest is in the video. look at the pics in the upper right hand side...

    Dang - that is scary.

The more I think about it, the less I want to really push my '66 until I upgrade my axles ( stock Lincoln 28 spline ), flywheel ( stock '85 GT ), and install a blowproof bellhousing... It sure is fun to drive as it sits, but I worry about catastrophic failure more these days than I used to...

And when I fire up an episode of Pinks All Out, I seem to remember the bad runs ( blown engines, busted axles, torn driveshafts, mid-track wipeouts ) more than the good ones.

Part of getting old, I guess...

It made 755/700 with some restrictive dyno headers on pump gas and a mild hydraulic roller. Gotta love BBF's. But then again.....that's an expensive piece for a street car. I would say 16k+.

16,000 then you can start buyin parts to put the short block together!!

hot rod just put together a "fake"429 with the new john kaase repro retrofit parts my rough math put that build at 25,000,,,a motor adds up fast when just the valve covers cost 1500$ not to mention the 2000$ accessory drive on the motor in the vid!!
