    Clutch Installation 01 gt

Time for a new clutch... Would this clutch perform ok? http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/ba...em_id=10902789

Im a college student so im trying to get the best bang for my buck. Also ford racing offers clutches at reasonal prices as well.

Also the RAM clutch is decently priced... http://www.steeda.com/products/ram_h...y_clutches.php

I'm shopping around and need help! And would I want to get my flywheel resurfaced or buy a new one as well? Ford racing has one for about $133.88... would i want the ford racing brand clutch with that or could I run the RAM etc with the ford racing flywheel? ugh.... I need answers! Thanks.

Spec and ram are great choices. I am partial to ram but have driven my buddies spec 2+ clutch in his trans am and liked it.. But a good buy for you with your power level would probably be the cobra clutch

Ram is usually pretty good stuff....I like my centerforce though...for sure do something with the flywheel...either have it resurfaced or get a new one...I jus cleaned mine up with some sand paper when I had it apart....it doesnt slip under normal driving just when you grab thrid or fourth hard and only for a split second does it slip even then...I picked up an FRPP nodular iron (stock) flywheel from summit for somewhere in the ball park of $130 that is goin in it this winter

So my 01' gt says under TR- K... which is the tr3650 transmission. But the owner before me says its the t45. The tag on the door says 2/01.... I know they made a tranny switch sometime in 2001. How can I tell?

If you wanna know for sure jus crawl under it.....t5/45 have removeable bell housings (the bolt heads will be visible and accessible with the tranny still bolted to the motor) you can remove the bell housing on a 3650 only after completely removing the whole tranny from the motor. Not to change the subject but I heard a white stang jus like yours hit the jersey barrier coming out of star chevrolet...it wasnt you was it?

i'd personally go with the RAM clutch...i have the same one and think its great.

and get your flywheel resurfaced, no need to buy a new one. they can be resurfaced many times, they do not need to be a certain thickness...buying a new one is a waste of money IMO

I forgot to address some things here haha... wishihada5.0, No thats wasnt me... sorry to hear though.

The tanny was not replaced. The door tag says k...3650. The VIN says it a t45...

http://www.smartpartsauto.com/t45_or...nsmission.html --- They are very distinctive, I took both pics of the trannys under the car and its unfortunatley the t45. Also stated by the previous owner its the t45. Has a t45 MGW t45 shifter as well lol... So that should clear things up. Thx guys and I will purchase the RAM clutch.

And keith even the pro's make mistakes haha
