    CHP stroker kits

Ok, i have started to look for my stroker kit and been on fordstrokers website and have found that the only 347 kits they have are from Coast High performance.. These guys good? anyone use them? anyone have any suggestions on where else to go or what to use.

My brother had a very bad experience buying a complete 418 shortblock from them, they will never get my business. I'd try Brian at AD Performance if you want to do mail order. From my brother's experience, I now like to use a local builder I trust. They might be able to get similar prices for you too.

Do you folks prefer the kits with the 5.315 rod vs the 5.4 rod? A while back when I was looking into a stroker, it seemed like the 5.4 kits were cheaper - is that because the 5.315 kits are preferred ( less side-load on the rings? )?

I wouldn't deal with fordstrokers again, I know customer service sucks. The finished product looked great and havent heard any negative feedback from the guy who bought it. If I was to do a ford again I would most likely go foxlake. Talked with Cory out there a few times and was real helpful and pretty cool to talk to.

Yeah, Foxlake guys are great. They did my brother's Canfields and Victor Jr and we BS'd at the shop for a while---Ron and Cory are good guys and know their shit, relatively close too.
Ron--I'd have no problem with the 5.4 rod.

When I just bought my Coast High Performance 347 Kit, I looked at fordstrokers.com and for the life of me can not figure out why anyone would pay more money to buy a CHP stroker kit from them instead of Coast High direct. Fordstrokers would of been almost $200 more if I had purchased it from them. Of course this was at the end of July and I see now CHP has raised the price of the kit I bought from $805 to $950, but now the balancing is "free" where it would of cost me $150 if it wasn't a special they running when I bought mine.

Ive had a very positive experience with Fordstrokers.com
Give Jim (Woody) a call & talk to him about a kit. He's no salesman or anything like that, very easy to talk to and wont shove any crap down your throat that you wont need.

There's also a few other guys from this site that have had great experiences with FordStrokers.com as im sure the'll post in once they see this.

I run a CHP 347 street fighter kit. I went directly through CHP, like Ed said why go through someone else. I had a good experience with them and never had a problem with the kit which I race every week for the last five years.

Stock 5.0 blocks can't handle much more than 500 flywheel HP if you want them to live very long. Better off to go with a forged crank and aftermarket block if you want to do a power adder stroker. I went with the cast crank because they are lighter than forged and had no plans to go with a power adder. JMO.

Why not just get a 94-95 roller 351 block. Already more cubes bolts right in and plenty of stroker kits for it. Make alot more power and the stock roller blocks are safe to like 700ish hp.
