    New speakers in a fox

I think I found someone who can fix my t tops so they don't whistle/leak, so Now I'm looking to put some better speakers up font now that I'll be able to hear them. lol I was thinking of making my own Custom spots in the doors but was wondering if anyone on here had a good idea as to where to put them. Right now it just has the 3 TINY tweeters that are completely smothered by the dash. Let me know what you think!

I think it would be a sin to cut your door panels if they are nice (but it is your car to do as you like). A few options to make it better (still not great :( )

Buy the best speakers you can find for the dash and add bass blockers to them. Part of what makes them suck is the little speakers trying to do something with the bass.

There are kick panel pods out there for these cars. You can put a regular door sized round speaker in them, sometimes even an additional tweeter.

Mine sounds okay with all Pioneer stuff, but it is what it is, and i'm sure no audio pro. Really think long and hard before cutting those door panels ;) Guys will kill for nice, original, uncut ones.

I'm not about to cut into my doors in any way, I'm just looking for something to make it sound better upfront because right now all you can hear is the back speakers. I'm no audio guru either, I just want to be able to hear it and have it be clear. A guy suggested putting them in a small box under the seats, but I'm not sure how that would sound.

Alot of people put speakers under their seats. They sounds pretty good if the projection angle for the sound is good.

One of the big problems is that the Dashboard is "custom" and doesn't really have the holes in it for the speakers. lol but i can't find a new dash.

Good luck. There is has been supposed to be a good repo coming for years now, just doesent look like it's going to happen :( There are repops out there for about $200, and caps for a bout $90.00. I have a cap in my car and 90% of the time have to point it out to peple who ask about the dash pad. Where it is visible is the speaker holes don't look "right".

About the doors- I didn't want to cut them, because i know how hard they are to find. I was trying to figure out a way to make a spot for a speaker and running the wire from the hole where the window switches are. I don't think it will work without ruining them now that I've looked closer at it.

And I've just been keeping my eyes out for a used dash, 200 is a little pricey for a college kid now a days. lol

I'm really leaning towards angling them in boxes under the seats.

I got Pioneer's all around and 2 10" subs in the trunk. 660 Watt sound system in my Z-34, and it's great.
