Terminator: Will 16" wheels fit rear? Tire size max?

I want to get a set of rear wheels to put a set of M/T ET Radials on. Looking for a inexpensive reack only wheel that will let me use a 16" tire if I can fit it over the brakes. Anyone have a known good fitting wheel and tire size that will fit for drag race use only?

I want a 10.5" wide to 12.5" wide slick. I know a 10.5" will fit because my current tire is a 275/35-18, or 10.6" wide by 25.6" tall and this fits fine front and rear on a 9.5" wheel.

PS-I would even go with a steel wheel, I don't really care about impressing folks wit the looks of a dedicated drag wheel all chromed out. If it ends up as a pretty wheel.... it will not be because I am demanding it.

im positive 16 inchers wont fit over cobra calipers.

Also doesnt your car have a solid under it with a drag brake set-up. why not run 15s.

The 16' waffle wheels off the earlier gt's will clear the cobra calipers in the rear. A few members on here have run them on termy's without an issue.

It does have a solid rear conversion, and the rear calipers are Ford, they are a regular natural grey color, not anything marked cobra. I have not measured them, but they may well be a standard GT rear setup.

The fronts are the complete Aerospace Componants drag brakes, as are the rear rotors. I lean towards the rear calipers being nothing special....

Bingo!! I also had a set of 01 V6 wheels that fit just fine.

If you are looking for a cheep set of front skinnies and stock 03 cobra wheels with a set of MT ET streets. The rear wheels were painted black to match the front steel wheels.
