You lucky bastard going to all these games. I really didn't get to see the game saturday but from the highlights and what people said about it, the pens played well but the bounces just didn't go their way...

Yes. They looked pretty good but Niemi was stopping everything. Staal did hit the night once, and it happen to be a goal but I'm sorry, he still blows and needs to go.

Staal has grown on me a little since the end of last year. Dont get me wrong I think his play is garbage at times, but he does bring some good things to the table. His size and reach make him a great Penalty killer. He also fits in well on the third line. Not a big fan, just not as against him as I was.

Someone who has not been cashing in on oppertunities is fedotanko. He needs to start producing. The guy has amazing chances at point blank range and can't find the back of the net.

What's the deal with him? He's fast, they say he has good hands, although we haven't seen that yet.....I can only guess he's just too small to make an impact, or just bad luck.

Maybe in 3 years or so but he is just too young and can't handle it yet. I mean he's like 18.

Almost everything I see out of Staal is garbage.

He is very lazy on the back check. He never gets back into a play to defend with any effort. He's lazy and over payed. And don't get me started on actually shooting the puck accurately.

With the absence of some big name players, you'd expect Staal to step up but in fact he didn't. He had what, like one goal for a total of like 5 all year? 4 million for that? No thanks, I'll pass.

Most of my friends are Staal fans so this is a debate that I'm used to.

No debate here, I agree with alot of what you're saying. I just think he does a couple things well. One game I'm bitching at the tv screen watching him, the next I'm like I guess he's alright to have around. This comes up every year though, Lol.

That's crazy talk, aside from blatant knee on knee hits and taking a hard shot on the foot, he's rock solid. That shot isn't getting any softer, and he still runs point on the PP. He's got a few good years left yet. Not at 5 million per season though...
